Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open November 24th, and apps are open December 1st. Please remember that starting in December, there is an app cap of 20 apps.

Two quick points here as well:
1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!

Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

SCENARIO ONE: HOW SAUCY
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.

Watch out as you explore the streets of Hadriel, because you're not alone, and there's always something lurking in the shadows, waiting for the perfect chance to destroy you for your vegetarian ways. This time, the Door has brought in a large group of Killer Tomatoes, from the Attack of the Killer Tomatoes movie.

While it is not immediately clear how these odd creatures can kill you, rest assured that you should be quaking in your boots. They can bite with their weird little tomato mouths, they can roll after you surprisingly fast, and they can even explode! Truly terrifying. But if you manage to defeat some of these agents of terror and chaos, you could make some mean salsa.]

SCENARIO TWO: VACATION IN THEDAS
[While you're exploring the city, perhaps you'll run into another creature that's slipped through a rift and is exploring along with you - or perhaps hunting would be a better term. Yes, Hadriel is teeming with demons straight from Thedas.

Perhaps you'll run into a desire demon, who will offer you your deepest wish - in exchange for your body and soul, of course. Perhaps you'll find a pride demon, who will play upon your strengths and weaknesses until you give in to them. Or maybe it'll be a despair demon, there to crush all your hopes and dreams.

Or maybe, if you're very lucky, you'll just find a nug.

This is a mini version of our Fadeout event this month!]

C O N F U S I O N

SCENARIO THREE: SWEDISH MANUFACTURING
[You're in luck! You know that thing you've always wanted? Doesn't matter what it is - a cool weapon, a nice dress, a well-made bedstand, a rare magical invention. Whatever it is, you just managed to find it! Whoa!

Or, well, you managed to find a box with a picture of the item on it. When you open the box, you find all the necessary components for making that item, along with illustrated instructions for putting it together. There's no written instructions, just pictures, but you're smart, you can figure it out! And it'll look just like the photo on the box. You're sure of it.

Better get building! Okay, the instructions don't entirely make sense - did you screw that part in upside down? Wait, are these pages out of order? Maybe you can ask that person nearby for help, or maybe you'll just sink into the depths of confusion and despair. But keep trying! Just think of what you'll get if you succeed!]

scenario two.
( Did the demons never cease? She supposed that with the state of their world currently that she should expect to be ass deep in them, as Varric put it, for a while now. They were still chasing Corypheus, and the rifts still plagued Thedas, though this place looked like nothing in Thedas.

It wasn't Thedas, and there shouldn't be demons, but even so here they were.

Cassandra had already killed two since her arrival, or rather on her arrival since she'd arrived with them by her feet, and now she was looking for somewhere to find out what the hell was going on. She needed information, a breather from the demons and maybe the Inquisitor if she was lucky )

[ To put it frankly, the Inquisitor looks like absolute shit when she spies Cassandra. Not that it matters much, she internalizes, with a sinking feeling; the Seeker isn't going to recognize her, just as none of the others have since Cullen. ]

Watch it. [ Cecily advises lightly, nodding at a last, lingering rage demon. An arrow sails by and into the face of the monster, which reels back in pain and dissolves into a fiery mess on the ground. She straightens up, then, hand sparkling with magic and breathing heavily with the week's exertions. ]

You look new. [ She speaks up, trying to keep her tone friendly, but not familiar. ] Need help with anything?

Unfortunately.

( It's half said as a mutter, Cassandra grateful for the Inquisitor's intervention. Once again that woman was saving their lives, and she wondered when it would end - if only to stop her before she ended up killing herself through such effort. One woman shouldn't have to take such a burden, yet Cecily did, which was why Cassandra was there - to keep it from killing her as they tried to do something.

There's a sigh, Cassandra thinking nothing of the Inquisitor's slightly distant tone, not knowing, nor expecting, the story that she'd have )

I would like to know how demons got here, or how we did. ( There's a pause, and then a curiosity flickers onto her expression ) Is this the Fade? I know that we haven't fallen through any rifts, but there are demons that could pull us into it.

( She knows enough from Leliana's stories, and the books of the past. Say it isn't so, Cecily. She knows that you've been there too, and hopes that you'd know )

Ah - No, it isn't. [ Cassandra doesn't seem confused or suspicious, which makes the Inquisitor briefly double-take. ] This... is called Hadriel, and it isn't any part of our world.

[ 'Our.' Inclusion. Same world, previously. ]

There were rifts, but you've just missed them. [ It's a miracle Cecily isn't dead asleep somewhere, actually, for that very reason. ] Lucky for you. Lucky for me, I had a lot of help closing them up again.

[ No thanks to the anchor, she thinks bitterly, despite it's obvious role in the entire process. ]

( There's a pause where any normal person would sigh, but Cassandra doesn't just relax after the little bit of good news. It isn't the Fade, which is great, but Cecily's words weren't entirely reassuring.

Rifts. Another world. This was a bigger story than she could have ever imagined )

How could a rift end up here? The anchor was the key before and that-

( Is still on Cecily's hand. Is there some other magic, something of this world that made the anchor react again, tearing these skies open? )

I am relieved that you could close them again, save this world as you saved Thedas.

( Well, stopped Corypheus and the mountain of demons. Thedas is far from saved but it's not going to be totally annihilated today )

But unfortunately I sense that there is more.

( This other world for a start. That was something completely alien to her, something she'd never read nor heard of before. Varric's tales hardly counted there )

[ There is more, certainly. But, that isn't the more pressing issue at the moment. ... Though, it's actually a lack of issue that has her eyebrows raising, eyes widening slightly in earnest disbelief. ]

... Hang on, you... know who I am? [ She remembers? Cecily's heart beats a little faster with that possibility, with the hope of having someone know her from home. ] You remember me as the Inquisitor?

[ If so, it'll be the first time since Dorian. Since Rainier. Since Cullen. ]

( Cassandra doesn't quite know how to take that question, and it's evident in her expression. She's terrible at hiding her feelings, as everyone knows, and surprise--

Well, she doesn't know what to say.

Other than wonder whether Varric put her up to that )

Should I not?

I - [ In a moment vastly out of character, she reddens. Just a little. ] ... It's a very long story, actually. But... I'm glad that you do. Remember me, that is.

[ Maker knows that she could hardly stand to have Cassandra treat her like the murderer of the Divine again, or worse. ]

Are you all right? [ The Inquisitor presses. ]

( There's a frown at Cecily's words, at her brushing off the explanation but Cassandra doesn't argue on it. She'll ask later, perhaps when they're in a more favourable position than this )

Yes, though perhaps we should find somewhere else to speak.

Of course.

[ Well, this is a surprise. A relief, too. Cecily brightens, nodding once, and then begins to lead the pair of them off to the makeshift home of the Inquisition as it exists within Hadriel. ]

We have headquarters here, though besides you and I, there's just Cole and Leliana. No others from the Inquisition.

No others, yet there are demons.

( And rifts, to make matters more complicated. How the hell were rifts here when this was not their world, and they'd already sealed the damned hole in the sky? )

Is there an answer for it?

Demons, along with nugs and foxes. [ Cecily adds lightly. ] A strange assortment, don't you think?

[ The latter two, anyway. She's never surprised by demons these days. ]

They say something called the Door brought it all in, brought us, too. [ ... ] Though... it may have been the anchor that opened rifts through which the demons, et cetera, found us.
