Two quick points here as well:
1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!

Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R

SCENARIO ONE: HOW SAUCY
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.

Watch out as you explore the streets of Hadriel, because you're not alone, and there's always something lurking in the shadows, waiting for the perfect chance to destroy you for your vegetarian ways. This time, the Door has brought in a large group of Killer Tomatoes, from the Attack of the Killer Tomatoes movie.

While it is not immediately clear how these odd creatures can kill you, rest assured that you should be quaking in your boots. They can bite with their weird little tomato mouths, they can roll after you surprisingly fast, and they can even explode! Truly terrifying. But if you manage to defeat some of these agents of terror and chaos, you could make some mean salsa.]

SCENARIO TWO: VACATION IN THEDAS
[While you're exploring the city, perhaps you'll run into another creature that's slipped through a rift and is exploring along with you - or perhaps hunting would be a better term. Yes, Hadriel is teeming with demons straight from Thedas.

Perhaps you'll run into a desire demon, who will offer you your deepest wish - in exchange for your body and soul, of course. Perhaps you'll find a pride demon, who will play upon your strengths and weaknesses until you give in to them. Or maybe it'll be a despair demon, there to crush all your hopes and dreams.

Or maybe, if you're very lucky, you'll just find a nug.

This is a mini version of our Fadeout event this month!]

C O N F U S I O N

SCENARIO THREE: SWEDISH MANUFACTURING
[You're in luck! You know that thing you've always wanted? Doesn't matter what it is - a cool weapon, a nice dress, a well-made bedstand, a rare magical invention. Whatever it is, you just managed to find it! Whoa!

Or, well, you managed to find a box with a picture of the item on it. When you open the box, you find all the necessary components for making that item, along with illustrated instructions for putting it together. There's no written instructions, just pictures, but you're smart, you can figure it out! And it'll look just like the photo on the box. You're sure of it.

Better get building! Okay, the instructions don't entirely make sense - did you screw that part in upside down? Wait, are these pages out of order? Maybe you can ask that person nearby for help, or maybe you'll just sink into the depths of confusion and despair. But keep trying! Just think of what you'll get if you succeed!]

Besides, discrimination's kinda a big proponent of war society. Big wigs love that sorta thing, really keeps the fires burning.

[Yukari comes from a war setting himself. But his Kings seem more interested in Capture the Flag than discriminating too much against others. Sure, you had the occasional person who thought they were superiour to everyone else, but it wasn't really racism as much as it was entitlement and territory.]

I think your rulers might need to be overthrown if they just want to keep people at each others throats for nothing other than giggles. A little chaos is fine, but it gets tiring if that's all you do.

[Yukari holds up what he thinks is finally the finished product of the rocket ship, setting it on the ground in front of Izabel, watching her to see if it looks correct.]

I think that should do it, running portions and all.

Hey, not my rulers. Cleave's always been a neutral party.

[Not that it...stopped the war from running amok there...]

It's not just entertaining for sickos, it's lucrative, too. Generates jobs, fuels the need for R&R. Unfortunate, but I can't say that it isn't a reality. Been dead too long to not notice that kinda shit.

[War makes the economy go 'round and keeps everyone in the "right" mindset...]

Oh, hell yeah! Look at that. Cute, even if it couldn't lift a tubby cat.

[Yukari scoffs at the mention of a neutral party.]

Are you serious? Neutral parties are the worst. They get nothing done. And does Cleave actually treat you and other ghosts the same as they would the living? Because if they discriminate against you, too, well, then they're certainly aren't as neutral as you think. Neutral is just another word for coward.

[Ah, good, he got it right, then.]

It probably isn't much as far as being durable, either. But now you have something to show off to anyone who visits you.

I mean, I was pretty happy being neutral, but whatever. [awkward] Just wanted to live out my life peacefully, you know? And then there were my parents, who had their radical neutrality thing. Fighting against the war instead of picking a side, causing a lot of trouble, becoming targets... Not that it really matters, most of our people are dead these days. Did come across one guy! He was a dick, though.

[She places her hands on her hips, head tipping like she's getting another angle on this rocket business.]

Now I just need to hire someone to follow me around and carry it. And look after it for me during the day.

I can't imagine there would be very much peace amongst intergalactic war, whether you wanted it or not. Sounds more like your parents chose their own side, Pink-chan. They had something to gain by fighting. [A casual smile.] Loss is just a natural part of war, no matter how neutral you are.

[He raises his eyebrows in amusement. He certainly has no intention of being her hire, if that's what she means. But there is something he's curious about.]

And what would you have to exchange for someone to offer you such services, Pink-chan?

[Especially when she's this tired.]

What, my good company isn't payment enough? You wound me.

[An airy chuckle.]

Right, right, of course. Dream away.

[Who is he to take that away, anyway.]

As far as good company, it's not exactly an accepted form of currency. Didn't your parents teach you proper trade? You were just lecturing me about the job market that your wars offer, weren't you?

I'm also not a big fan of the war. And there isn't one here, so people gotta take whatever gig they can get, huh?

I'm certainly not an intergalactic traveler, but I'm fairly certain that, no matter where you go, goods will be required for services. However, if you manage to find someone who simply values friendship as a good, you might have some success.

[Yukari, on the other hand, is more likely to troll you than befriend you. He is not a proud acquirer or many friends at all.]

Hey, I'm an excellent friend! I'm worth, like, ten other friends!

[She's great!!!]

You do seem to genuinely care about people, Pink-chan. Coming from a war-filled world, perhaps that is an interesting trait.

[He folds his arms and leans against a wall.]

Most people would become spiteful in your position, I'm fairly certain.

Heck, where's the fun in that? Shouldn't be a pain in the ass just because I don't have one.

[Most of the people who were had done so out of fear and anger. Izabel hadn't really had a reason to wallow in those feelings. Just some dumb regrets.]

Life's short. I want people to be able to enjoy it.

[Yukari gives a soft chuckle at her humour.]

But what if part of the enjoyment is harassing other people?

You can harass 'em without being a raging dickbag about it, you know.

But it's so much more beautiful when they're fully enraged. You get to see the most intimate parts of someone when they're in a rage.

Have you considered therapy? Just wondering.

Certainly not. Therapy only works for those who see they have a problem. I have no qualms with what I do. Even if the rest of the world does.

[She narrows her eyes, and makes an exaggerated show of drifting off to the side. She can't exactly take a giant, separating step without legs.]

And I don't suppose that activity would just be, like, jackin' it for way too long, huh?

[Oh, man, the look on her face. Yukari puts a hand over his mouth to mimic thought, smirking underneath it.]

It's important to indulge in pleasure, Pink-chan. You said it yourself that life is too short. You don't go around not telling the truth just because it might offend somebody, do you?
