That's really the least dismissive way to say it is all, and Emily's not about to piss off someone who can do so much damage to people she hates.] You're one of the few people who can actually do something about any of this. Some days, I wonder if you're not all my enemy as well. I do have a guardian in the Otherworld. [ She's capable of handling these things on her own because it's what she's had to do for years. Alessa didn't have anyone to protect her, didn't have friends to watch her back, so she created her own. ] Even if I have no one, I have him.

[ She knows her strategy isn't entirely sound. It's hard to have something foolproof when you don't have the information necessary to make it so, but it's not in her to just wait around for things like that to fall at her feet. ] I don't need anyone to watch my back.
