[Dude, humans are complicated but you're even worse! Still, she can tell Kain probably just needs to get used to more physcal contact, almost like a wild animal that needs to get used to someone's touch. A weird comparison, probably, yet that's something she's familiar with.]

Of course it wasn't bad, Kain, it's always nice to be close to others.

[It's something Kain does on purpose, keeping his distance from others. He's gotten... a bit too good at that, really. He prefers it that way, usually. Having tough barriers keeps others from getting in and causing him harm. But sometimes, despite everything, he finds himself... wishing he could have more contact with others. Sometimes.]

[She's the opposite, coming from a small community of very united creatures who share most of their lives in the same small city isolated from the rest- touching, sharing, spending time together is everything down there and Rydia struggles to understand why certain people isolate themselves for no reason at all.
