I started college when I was fourteen, and have four degrees.

I was shot once by a murder suspect, during a standoff.

Although I'm a terrible cook, I can actually bake pretty well.

It's usually a lot easier to find pre-made, edible food that I actually want and can just buy than it is to find worthwhile baked goods.

High school starts at fourteen; college varies, but if you go directly after high school usually you start at eighteen.

I'm very certain. Not only were--and are--we friends, but I don't think it would've been such a minor injury if she'd actually meant to shoot me.

[He's heartbroken. But no, really, it works out for the best if Maketh likes Brennan, for several reasons.]

If they did, I trust they would've done a lot better job in making sure that actually happened.

[In other words, if his friends wanted him dead he would've been a long time ago; his friends are very competent.]

I don't typically consider people friends if I have any doubt regarding whether or not they'd let me get killed at first opportunity, so I'm not sure why that's a better response.
