I don't know which I need first...a shower or a confessional.

these are my confessions

just when i thought i said all i could say my chick on the side said she had one on the way

✔ Your character is suddenly compelled to confess things.
✔ They can be about themselves, things they think about others, etc etc.
✔ Format however you like! If you want to make a toplevel and respond to yourself with individual confessions to keep things organized, go for it. If you want to post a bunch of confessions together in the toplevel, that's also cool! Same with having a thread/reply for other characters confessing to yours.
✔ Reply to confessions!
✔ Continue to confess things/assume your character has to tell the truth in threads.
✔ HAVE FUN

....hadn't thought about it that way. Suppose everyone sees this place and weighs it against wherever they came from. What you'd need to survive there.

You think about this stuff a lot, don't you?

It isn't necessarily wrong to do so; everyone needs some sort of framework to work from. But assuming their own experience is the standard, or that it makes them better or worse than other people with their own experiences, is a mistake.

I'm a psychologist; it kind of comes with the territory.

[And Lance overthinks everything naturally anyway.]

Yeah, I'm getting that now.

[It took some getting used to. A whole lot of patience. More than one ass-kicking.]

Hnn. Maybe. Got a feeling you're doing this shit off the clock too, though.

Is there an 'off the clock' here?

[It's a small joke that he half means, but is still mostly a deflection. Not like Ephemera's wrong, after all.]

Yeah, Doc.

[He tips his head to the side.]

Even people like me can't be on all the time.

[He offers a small shrug.]

I can't really turn off thinking about things.

No. But there's a difference between going at something like a professional and just looking at it.

Not as much of a difference as it might seem, in my field. Once you learn all the psychology stuff it's difficult not to use it all the time.

[Although there's definitely a difference in terms of mental distance, but he won't bring that up.]

I dunno about that stuff. But that was one of things CT taught us. Sometimes you can't turn off being a soldier 'cause you'll die, but sometimes you should. Or it gets to be too much.
