Two quick points here as well:
1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!

Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

SCENARIO ONE: FRACTURED FUTURE?
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.

This time, the Door has decided to bring in some monsters who already have a taste of what it's like to win their war. Welcome to the Risen, from the Fire Emblem franchise!

Risen are reanimated corpses, dedicated to obeying their master's will. While they have some form of sentience, they cannot be dissuaded from their goal and attack all who oppose them with a singleminded desire to execute their purpose, which unfortunately for you is "killing indiscriminately". Still, they're not all bad and some of them may even be relieved to finally be put to death. Have fun!]

T R A N Q U I L I T Y

SCENARIO TWO: ONLY THE GOOD STUFF
[Tranquility has decided to take over Hope's food supply regimen and- well, if anyone thought he was a self righteous hipster before, this is probably what's going to seal the deal. All the food provided in the shops is now extremely vegan-only, from basic lettuce to the most bland fruit you can stand to look at.

None of it even tastes like anything, either- it's all like you're eating water. Maybe to Tranquility, this is a feast, but for you, it's difficult to register that you're even full. Better start prepping those salt mines- it's gonna be a long month.]

R A G E

SCENARIO THREE: YANDERE LIFE
[Unfortunately for you, you came at a time when Rage was very unhappy with everyone- and now you get to suffer for it. Is there anyone who catches your eye? Anyone who you might want to get to know a little better? Well, you're about to get to know them a lot better, because now you're obsessed with them.

It's not the innocent kind of obsession, either- this is a full speed ahead, breakdown, pull out the knives and rope kind of obsession, where your desire to be near someone is synonymous with stalking, being a creep, and overall just not really anything remotely approaching healthy.

Better look out and hope that nobody gets a crush on you either.

This is a mini version of our Kiss me Kill me event this month.]

[ She hasn't been here for all that long, but given the amount of what she has been exposed to? This actually isn't the worst of it. ] Food, I believe.

[ There's a pause as she regards the dish with a skeptical look herself. ] Did it come with instructions on how to eat it? [ She only asks because some of the food provided in the packages at the stores come with little pictures of how to prepare the dish itself. ]

(Link shifts the bowl, spins it around in his hands, but the package is as white as freshly fallen snow. No marks or instructions mar its surface.)

No...I don't see anything. Maybe it's a local thing, like how different villages have seafood if they live by the water.

(He changes another bite in hopes this one will come out better, but Link is disappointed.)

Maybe it's not really food. It doesn't taste like anything.

[ There’s a skeptical look at the tofu from her. The food looks completely alien to her. Or like something that’s been regurgitated from an alien’s mouth.

Zelda leans over, plucking up one of the forks and slicing off a portion. She lifts it up to her, and using her other hand she wafts the air over it. ] ...There is no scent, so it may not be spoiled.

[ She looks from the tofu to him. ] Well? Should we brave this meal, or hunt for our own?

(Idly, Link's hand scratches at his hair. This really doesn't seem like it should be edible for a soldier, nevermind a Queen.)

Is all of the food here like this?

(She is the more experienced of the pair.)

Fortunately, no. [ She says with a breath. ] There are shops— were shops that had all sorts of food, including confections that claimed one can “taste the rainbow”. [ There is a bit of a light smile at that. No, Skittles definitely don’t taste like anything good. ]

This change in selection of food makes me wonder if this is seasonal... or perhaps it is an effect from one of the resident deities.

[ She pauses. ] But if this the only food they are willing to provide us, perhaps it is not so bad.

(It isn't that Link hasn't had worse food, but the lack of taste is definitely disconcerting. It's almost like touching without feeling, breathing without smelling, and looking without seeing.

Zelda does have a point that it could be worse, it could be inedible.)

We did already pay for it.

(He holds out for the bowl for her to sample.)

What does the rainbow taste like?

Artificial. [ She replies simply, waving her hand casually to the side. She's being facetious, of course, but in case that it goes over his head, she explains: ]

...The flavors, I do mean. The candy that I speak of has different, manufactured flavors of fruits to each piece. That, the brand claims, is akin to tasting the rainbow.

[ She'll take a sample of what he's offering. ] But I would much prefer that confection over this.

(Because of the colors? Link has never considered the taste of a rainbow, but it doesn't seem fruity in spite of the aesthetic connection.

It also feels like a silly thing to even consider. The rainbow wasn't food, it was a wonder of the skies.)

Probably, real rainbows are linked to their fairies.

(Withdrawing the package, Link looks around. Being the chosen hero doesn't actually imply a need to make sure the Queen is well-fed, but perhaps he's not doing it because of his duty. They need to eat, and neither of them could considering this a viable meal.)

There are other stalls. We'll keep looking. (Well, now that he thinks on it:) Do you have a favorite place?

I have arrived here but a few weeks ago, Link, and have not much time to explore this city and what it may offer in terms of food. [ She says gently, a small smile playing upon her lips.

Zelda clasps her hands together pleasantly, decided that as much as it is nice that he's thoughtful of her, he really should also be concerned with himself. ] So whatever favorites of mine there may be... perhaps we will find them together. And yours as well.

[ And with that she stands up, looking to her side. ] Well. Shall we?

[ There's definitely more to choose from. They can totally go on a junk food hunting spree! ]

(Link has simple tastes, but the disgusting non-food he'd just discarded was too little, even for him. Zelda, he imagines, is accustomed to nicer meals. What does a Queen eat? Of all the talks in the barracks, her dining habits were never mentioned.

It's sweet that she wants to include him on her hunt for a favorite, but few had questioned the Queen's kindness.

Casually walking behind, Link looks at the stalls they pass, but he continues to walk. Even when he recognizes the names, they don't sound appetizing. Slowly, his naturally friendly face contorts to confusion. He knows he's had meat in his short time here.)

Do animals go by a different name?

(What is vegan?)

Everyone here speaks the same language... even if by all accounts we shouldn't. Of the animals that we have in our own world, we know their names. But animals and creatures we do not recognize are in their original terms. [ She explains to him what she's managed to figure out. Really, how this whole world works as a nexus is incredibly interesting, and she would rather like to investigate further. Unfortunately it's been a busy first month anyway. ]

What you're seeing here is.... [ A pause. How to phrase this. ] From what I understand of this place, the resident gods grant us these supplies. One of them must have crafted this selection for the time being, although I am unsure as to which one. [ She hasn't been here long enough to know that much.

Aaand after a bit of more walking and not finding anything appetizing, she speaks again: ] Perhaps we should go hunting or fishing?
