Test Drive Meme #29
Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open February 21st, and apps are open March 1st. Please remember that there is an app cap of 20 apps.
Two quick points here as well:1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!
Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R
SCENARIO ONE: FRACTURED FUTURE?
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.
This time, the Door has decided to bring in some monsters who already have a taste of what it's like to win their war. Welcome to the Risen, from the Fire Emblem franchise!
Risen are reanimated corpses, dedicated to obeying their master's will. While they have some form of sentience, they cannot be dissuaded from their goal and attack all who oppose them with a singleminded desire to execute their purpose, which unfortunately for you is "killing indiscriminately". Still, they're not all bad and some of them may even be relieved to finally be put to death. Have fun!]

SCENARIO TWO: ONLY THE GOOD STUFF
[Tranquility has decided to take over Hope's food supply regimen and- well, if anyone thought he was a self righteous hipster before, this is probably what's going to seal the deal. All the food provided in the shops is now extremely vegan-only, from basic lettuce to the most bland fruit you can stand to look at.
None of it even tastes like anything, either- it's all like you're eating water. Maybe to Tranquility, this is a feast, but for you, it's difficult to register that you're even full. Better start prepping those salt mines- it's gonna be a long month.]
R A G E
SCENARIO THREE: YANDERE LIFE
[Unfortunately for you, you came at a time when Rage was very unhappy with everyone- and now you get to suffer for it. Is there anyone who catches your eye? Anyone who you might want to get to know a little better? Well, you're about to get to know them a lot better, because now you're obsessed with them.
It's not the innocent kind of obsession, either- this is a full speed ahead, breakdown, pull out the knives and rope kind of obsession, where your desire to be near someone is synonymous with stalking, being a creep, and overall just not really anything remotely approaching healthy.
Better look out and hope that nobody gets a crush on you either.
This is a mini version of our Kiss me Kill me event this month.]

minsu oh | original
[free food is a good thing, even if most of minsu's food was always free. there is just one problem with this:
none of this is food, not by his definition. the first thing that minsu found in the shops was tofu and canned cabbage, and the fox swore to anyone listening that he'd rather starve. desperation brings him right back within a couple of hours, time enough for him to feel like he really is starving. he opens things right there on the floor, shoveling it in until his cheeks bulge and it looks like it's hard for him to swallow. minsu presses the back of his hand against his mouth, chewing a few more times. there's a definite air of panic about him.]
Hell is a real place. I've found it.
rage:
[minsu's curiosity is easily piqued. just say one too many kind words to him, and you might end up with a minsu-shaped nuisance on your hands. he is by nature, a little bit much, even when he doesn't mean or want to disrespect another's boundaries.
but he's never felt anything like this before. it terrifies him to think that it has something to do with his hunger, but no. this is something different.
he was behind you a little while ago. time has passed and the location has changed, and he's still there. and if minsu even thinks that he has your attention, he'll close that distance between the two of you.]
It's not safe to be out here alone. Let me stay with you?
[and he's not talking about just the walk, he means forever.]
wildcard:
[hit me! be it something from the fear option, or you want to reverse roles for rage. or plot something entirely by PM or at
rage.
which means yes, noctis will be kind, and minsu will have his attention when he turns around and stops at the question. ]
Uh -- you must be new here, huh? [ because that's pretty much how noctis is parsing that question: it's intimidating to be here all alone, and he supposes it's a pretty hard landing for some new arrivals. so he does the best he can, because he's just that kind of person, for better or worse.
currently, unbeknownst to an unsuspecting noctis, this situation belongs quite firmly in the latter category. ] Are you feeling unsafe? Is someone after you?
no subject
but try convincing minsu of that. because to him, this is clearly something deeper. a once in a lifetime feeling, not something to be ignored.]
You noticed!
[he seems delighted by that. he must have felt it too, must have realized from the moment he laid eyes on him that minsu has arrived for the sole purpose of making him whole. now each one of them is finally complete, impossible to tell where one of them ends and the other begins.
damn, minsu should really find out his name.
he looks touched at his questions, lifting a hand to brush the backs of his fingers against noctis's cheek.]
You don't have to worry about me. I'll never let anyone or anything take me away from you again.
tranquility!
[ Alfred says simply. A lot of people seem to refer to this place as hell but it's hard for him to see it as such -- since, well, it's nothing like the hell of which he has read about in scripture, of course. This is something else. But still, he looks at the other man with concern and compassion. ]
Is something specific wrong?
no subject
his scent would tell him more, but breathing him in too deeply might be a mistake. and honestly, minsu's nose is still being offended by the contents of the open cans in front of him.]
I can't eat this. If there's no meat in here, then I need to find a bird, a fish. Anything like that.
no subject
I'm not sure there's anything like that. You might have to settle for a bit.
[ Alfred says and his voice is gentle like he's trying to soften the disappointing information. He can't imagine how someone couldn't manage just a little like this. It's not all that pleasant but there are far worse options than this tribulation. ]
no subject
[minsu keeps trying, but then presses his hand back over his mouth and nose before he can finish a single sentence. there's a sharpness to his voice. it sounds like he's just being stubborn, petulant. it can't explain the horrible details to someone he just met, even though he probably should.
he takes a deep breath behind his hand, forces himself to be still and focus for a moment. those are both hard things for minsu to do. but he can gradually lower his hand, and it's still misery, but he's mostly...ok.
he picks up the tofu, attempting to smile.]
Have you eaten this? They give this to people getting out of prison where I'm from.
[it's a little ironic right now, in more than one way.]
no subject
I have. It is not very good but there is not really any choice right now. [ Alfred's not harsh with his words, there's a gentle and softness to the way he speaks. ]
This seems to distress you deeply.
no subject
[minsu's voice is also soft. he almost seems to have surrendered, slumping, sighing. he can guess what he looks like in alfred's eyes.]
You probably think I'm just being a baby. [and that worries him almost as much as the idea of starving. minsu wants so much for people to like him, but he hasn't made a very good impression here.] I have a...condition.
[it's not a lie, it's not. minsu can forgive himself for putting it that way, maybe.]
I'm afraid this kind of diet might make it worse.
no subject
I am sure there has to be someone here who might know a way to help you. Is it medical? There is a building here where there are physicians. They could assist you perhaps?
no subject
minsu offers him a smile for trying, pushing sweat damp bangs off his forehead.]
Not unless they have a butchered cow in that building. [he gets to his feet.] I'm Minsu.
no subject
I am Alfred. [ He doesnt bother to state his title or the like. Its not at all important. ]
tranquility. /so late to the party
He tries something that looks most like it might have a taste about it, and his eyebrows furrow instantly as he inspects the rest of what he'd presumed was supposed to be some kind of chocolate bar. Seconds later, he's lifting his thumb to his mouth - licking it once to confirm that no, this wasn't an assault on his taste buds. This is purely and simply awful food.]
Have you tried everything? [He needs to know, not just for his own sanity.]
well the party never really starts without tony
I didn't try the hominy.
[he doesn't even know what 'hominy' is, but it if the faded picture on the can is any indication, it probably tastes as horrible as it looks.
still, hope springs eternal.]
Should we?
no subject
The moment he mentions hominy however, he's shaking his head - reaching out to take a tin off the shelf, flipping it around in his hand.]
Tastes weird anyway. I wouldn't go for it.
[The can is tossed back on the shelf with the others, and with that same hand he thumbs over his shoulder.]
We should leave.
no subject
'weird' is something that he's willing to try once, especially when the alternative is 'nothing'. but the man's presence helps to distract him from his hunger. minsu gets to his feet, hands dusting off the back of his pants.]
Where should we go? I asked someone if there was anything to hunt, but it didn't sound too good.
