Test Drive Meme #29
Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open February 21st, and apps are open March 1st. Please remember that there is an app cap of 20 apps.
Two quick points here as well:1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!
Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R
SCENARIO ONE: FRACTURED FUTURE?
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.
This time, the Door has decided to bring in some monsters who already have a taste of what it's like to win their war. Welcome to the Risen, from the Fire Emblem franchise!
Risen are reanimated corpses, dedicated to obeying their master's will. While they have some form of sentience, they cannot be dissuaded from their goal and attack all who oppose them with a singleminded desire to execute their purpose, which unfortunately for you is "killing indiscriminately". Still, they're not all bad and some of them may even be relieved to finally be put to death. Have fun!]

SCENARIO TWO: ONLY THE GOOD STUFF
[Tranquility has decided to take over Hope's food supply regimen and- well, if anyone thought he was a self righteous hipster before, this is probably what's going to seal the deal. All the food provided in the shops is now extremely vegan-only, from basic lettuce to the most bland fruit you can stand to look at.
None of it even tastes like anything, either- it's all like you're eating water. Maybe to Tranquility, this is a feast, but for you, it's difficult to register that you're even full. Better start prepping those salt mines- it's gonna be a long month.]

SCENARIO THREE: YANDERE LIFE
[Unfortunately for you, you came at a time when Rage was very unhappy with everyone- and now you get to suffer for it. Is there anyone who catches your eye? Anyone who you might want to get to know a little better? Well, you're about to get to know them a lot better, because now you're obsessed with them.
It's not the innocent kind of obsession, either- this is a full speed ahead, breakdown, pull out the knives and rope kind of obsession, where your desire to be near someone is synonymous with stalking, being a creep, and overall just not really anything remotely approaching healthy.
Better look out and hope that nobody gets a crush on you either.
This is a mini version of our Kiss me Kill me event this month.]

"Oh. I suppose that makes good sense." She can see her own name and flinches slightly at the misspelling. That happened a lot. Almost as much as people telling her they thought she'd be taller.
"It's um, it's s-y-e-i-r-a. Sye-ir-a." She tries not to be annoyed by it. This lady doesn't know. Moving along.
"I'm from Toril, on the Prime Material Plane. Though that isn't where I was before, if that matters."
no subject
But she laughs off the reaction with a shrug. "Never heard of it, but that's nothing new here. Sorry, did you have a family name at all? Surname? Anything to identify you better with? City of birth, date of birth, anything like that might help us pinpoint what's going on with this portal, or door, whatever it is."
A whole lot of bullshit right there but if she ever gets out of this absurd hole in the cosmos with this phone intact, that kind of info can be used by the Ironhold scholars to try and discover truenames. And this one looks like a useful one to have some control over. Little known fact by these mortals, it seems - sure, a truename can let a summoner control his summons. They always assume that works for, say, a wizard trying to employ some devil to do his dirty work. They never seem to realize the souls of mortals can also be owned and sometimes it's even worth doing it.

Bhaalspawn, a voice in the back of her mind whispers, and is promptly ignored. If her heritage is the reason she has been dragged, yet again, to some other plane, it would become apparent soon enough. And while she's not usually one to lie about her family tree, such as it is, she's also not really up for waving her relation, to the God of Murder, around like a flag. She'd rather know the lay of the land first, so to speak, before she started revealing that troublesome part of her identity to people.
"I was brought up along the Sword Coast of Faerun. I'm somewhere around a score in years. Half-elven. If any of that helps you."

Caedra feels like such an expert with these phones now, as she taps out the information with her fingertips on the strange little illusory keys, watching as the notes come right up on the screen. This phone alone will be worth so much to Amamot, never mind the information stored in it. The advantages they will have over everyone with the understanding gained from this piece of machinery - well, it's hard to imagine what the research crew at the library will find when they dismantle this thing and learn how more can be made.
This poor woman, though. For all her apparent and presumed combat ability, she seems awfully naive.
"Okay! You're all set." She tucks the phone away, then openly eyes the equipment Syeira is carrying. "Where did you get all of that? It looks really impressive."

She glances down at her gear, at the woman's question. She is rather decked out. Just about everything on her is magical in some way. And the innocuous little blue pouch, bound securely to her belt, held a plethora of other things, she'd collected along the way.
"Oh here and there. Fighting monsters and wizards and dragons and such. I learned fairly quickly to hold onto anything that I pick up. You never know when you might need it."
She gives a little shrug of her shoulders, as though it didn't impress her very much. It's startling how easy one gets used to the extraordinary, when it becomes the everyday.
But that reminds her that she still has both swords in hand. Her sword of flame she sheaths without a thought, then produces a clean rag and starts wiping the blood and gunk from her more attractive sword. It doesn't have fancy flames to keep it clean, and she wasn't about to put a dirty sword in a clean scabbard.
"Since it seems I'm not going home any time soon, is it too much to hope there's somewhere safe to rest around here? I could really use with washing my face." And everything else on her. She's been going for more than a day, battling vampires and dragons and demons and a stolen avatar of her own divine heritage. She was rather tired to say the least.

There are also lots of perfectly fine vacant apartments, she's learned - those weird tall spire things have them. She hadn't really bothered to look there when finding her own place to dump her stuff.
It's far funnier to send the woman to the river, with its dangerous currents and bloodthirsty aquatic creatures.
no subject
But those poor bloodthirsty aquatic creatures. They probably won't find the joke very funny.
"Thank you for the information, Caedra. I do appreciate it." She doesn't want to impose upon the lady, any more than she already has. It's not that she wouldn't welcome the company, if the other woman wanted to continue tagging along, but Syeira didn't want to make it seem like it was expected. She didn't like to be a burden.
