Welcome to another combo meme! This meme is one parts my modified version of the hearts meme, and another part the tl;dr CR meme.

And totally tl;dr me~

Josh's feelings about Chris are very confused, but that's probably to be expected. He still thinks of Chris as his friend but he's not sure Chris feels the same way anymore, and the fact that he remembers planning the prank but not going through with it makes everything more complicated. He doesn't feel guilty about it, exactly, because he didn't see what they went through - but if he had seen, he wouldn't really feel guilty either, thanks to his quickly declining mental health throughout the game. So he's sort of stuck in this weird limbo where he's aware that he did something pretty fucked up and that it really upset/traumatized Chris (and Ashley, and Sam), but it's hard for him to fully grasp that, because it's not quite real to him.

As such, he's struggling with taking responsibility for his actions, but he's slowly getting there. On some level he does know it was fucked up and wrong, and now that his med withdrawals are tapering off he can understand that better. But he still doesn't quite feel guilty because it doesn't quite feel real to him.

But Chris was a good friend, one of his best friends, before all of it, and seeing how it affected him is sort of a wakeup call. Josh just doesn't really know how to approach the whole issue, but he definitely misses the easy friendship they used to have, and he knows it's gone because of him. Which is not the first or probably the last time his poor mental health has cost him a friendship, but he would rather it not be his friendship with Chris, who's been around through a lot.

He's still got a lot to work through, but Josh is slowly coming around to the idea that he needs to make amends in some way. He does know that what happened to his sisters isn't Chris' fault, but Josh sort of aimlessly blames the world in general when he's not blaming himself, and it can be hard to remember that he really shouldn't. Man, this got long. tl;dr he wants to be friends again but he's not sure how.
