The (Modified) Hearts + TL;DR CR Meme!

The (modified) Hearts Meme + The TL;DR CR Meme

Welcome to another combo meme! This meme is one parts my modified version of the hearts meme, and another part the tl;dr CR meme.

  • Comment with your characters.
  • Others comment with appropriate hearts for how their character feels about yours.
  • If desired, ask for tl;dr CR at the same time/instead of hearts!
  • If asked for tl;dr, respond with however much you'd like to write about the CR between the two characters.
  • Profit!
  • Have fun everyone!

  • As a note, remember that you can change the alt text so that the hearts say different things when you hover your mouse over them. Look for title="" in the code you are copy and pasting, and change the text between the quotation marks to whatever you like!

This meme has been modified from it's original format to add more hearts, so be sure to read the descriptions! Also feel free to suggest more heart categories~

Aaand tl;dr because I feel like it.

So, Maketh thinks Lilith is competent as hell. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal - Maketh's semi military, competency is kinda expected - buuuuut because the Imperials are, you know, themselves, she ends up anticipating a certain amount of failure. Usually the kind that involves explosions, property damage, and headaches for everyone involved. Therefore she usually ends up screaming at whoever she's currently teamed up with. Especially fellow military. Her troops are both amused and slightly terrified of her because of this. More than a few of her canon scenes are devoted to her ripping into whoever happens to have screwed up last. Usually Aresko and Grint, because they happen to the the comic relief background characters.

And then she meets Lilith. Who hasn't screwed up once. And is therefore more effective than about 90% of her regular troops. Maketh's still pretty convinced that Lilith operates like a bounty hunter - which is somewhat true - and that's why she's not concerned about the fact that Lilith clearly isn't military. It's a distinction that Maketh understands. So Maketh will put up with Lilith's lack of uniform and her general conduct where she wouldn't accept it from everyone else, because that's how bounty hunters are. Even though Lilith isn't a bounty hunter, exactly.

She's also super giddy to find someone with powers who's actually willing to talk with her about them. Maketh's a huge nerd and needs to know the details about everything. And since she's not Force-sensitive, she's not privy to that sort of information back home. The fact that Lilith is willing to demonstrate her powers, let alone use them for a mission, is blowing Maketh away. Back home, Force users do not talk to anyone not in the know. Especially in the Empire.

Plus she's slightly amused by Lilith's personality. It's giving Maketh a chance to come out of the military mindset a bit, which is a fairly big deal for her. She'll probably ask Lilith to go for drinks with her sometime. Though be warned, Maketh doesn't drink often but when she does, she drinks hard. There will be shots.

    Hope you don't mind tl;dr

    TW for suicide.

Okay. Uh. Now that she's no longer suffering from the results of unwitting cannibalism, Maketh is feeling incredibly embarrassed about her interactions with Chris. Mostly because she let him see her at a very low moment, which Maketh is going to try and simplify to unprofessional conduct. She acted against protocol and possibly traumatized a civilian, therefore she'd be facing disciplinary actions back home and must make sure that it never happens again for the sake of professionalism. Which, while true on some level, isn't the end of it.

While Maketh is very deliberately not thinking about this, part of why she's so ashamed is that she let her mask crack - and now somebody else knows that she doesn't have her shit together, that's she's not coping with all the changes, and that on some level, she saw killing herself as an acceptable solution to all of this. Even though on the surface it was about keeping people safe and she got one of her allies to actually kill her, there's a part of her that's worried about how quickly she accepted that option. Especially since by the time it happened, she probably could have been dragged to Hope's temple and cured.

And she's let Chris, a civilian, in on this. This is not good, in Maketh's book.

It's still up in the air how she's going to respond to Chris moving forward. She appreciates that he's logical and that he provided clear, concise information in a stressful situation. However, he still reads as civilian in her head - for better or worse - and therefore shouldn't be exposed to all the horrible crap that needs to be dealt with in Hadriel. She'll either avoid him like mad and try to forget the interaction ever happened, or be Extra Professional around him for the foreseeable future. Look, civilian, everything is fine! I'm very useful and there is absolutely nothing to worry about!

That...probably won't work, but nobody ever accused the Empire of developing useful coping mechanisms for their soldiers.

I'd absolutely love to do something with the two of them. Just let me know when :)

Yeah, Maketh still subscribes to the Imperial way of dealing with trauma - which is essentially to ignore it ever happened, or channel it into brutality against the enemy. She's started to break from the philosophy piece by piece, but it's going to take a long time. Deep down, she still believes that her life is only as important as the work she does. So if she can't work then her life is essentially worthless.

The Imperial military is really screwed up at her canon point.

It'll be interesting to see how she deals with his concern, too, since Chris = civilian in her head, and her interactions with non-military people can be, uh, unfortunate. Especially since Chris - and most civilians in general - don't subscribe to the Imperial philosophy, and Maketh has had that drilled into her since she was a kid. Even though she's technically broken ties with the Empire, it's hard to shake a belief system that you've had nearly your entire life.

Her solution to this will be ignoring the problem and then drinking heavily. There will be shots.

    tl;dr incoming.

Maketh likes Newt, though she's only spoken with him over the network and there'd probably be some awkwardness if/when they meet in person. Though Maketh still has the mentality that cadet aged = adult and therefore asset to be utilized, there's still a big age difference between them. And Maketh does not know how to deal with young people. She gives it a try in canon, but it backfires spectacularly and she's worried that it might again. Add in the fact that she told him something about her family - which she rarely does - and there's a whole other level of unease on Maketh's part. She wants to be seen as a professional, but also understands that in order to be a good leader, she needs to be seen as a person and not just an extension of nameless authority.

And then there's the way she's drawn connections between WICKED and the Empire, which puts her on the same level as the bad guys in Newt's world. Who Maketh sees as illogical and cruel. Which means that on some level she's also illogical and cruel, and complicit in making life hell for people like Newt - who she likes.

It's complicated. She'll probably tell him exactly none of this.

Henry is the first friend that Maketh made in Hadriel, which is a Big Deal for her. Mostly because Maketh doesn't usually do friends - she's not especially nuanced at social interaction and the worst kind of workaholic - so much as she makes allies. To be sure, Henry starts out that way - he's a useful asset and knows more about the contents of the armory than she does, therefore he's worth knowing even if he doesn't accept her authority blindly.

She actually likes that he disagrees with her, since they end up having actual discussions instead of her just yelling out orders and having them followed without question. It puts them on the same level, and she respects him deeply for his tactical knowledge - and, quietly, the fact that he doesn't back down when she challenges him.

Also she's a little amused by his ignorance of modern technology. And tragic lack of coffee. If she finds any, you will discover the wonders of caffeine, Henry.

And then there's the whole wendigo thing. Maketh intended it to be simple - an order that she gave and he followed, because it was the most logical solution to what could have been a disaster for the larger community. Of course it's never that simple and was horribly traumatic for both of them, and now Maketh has to come to terms with the fact that she ordered one of her only friends ever to set her on fire and that she, on some level, made the decision that her death was going to make things better when she probably could have made it to Hope's temple.

Then she woke up alive, and has to deal with the aftermath. Because it wasn't simple like she thought - she's ordered people shot, and thought it would be quick - and now she has to face Henry knowing that she asked him to do something awful for reasons that she's beginning to have uncomfortable questions about.

She's going to be drinking a lot to deal with this. She may drunkenly hug you, Henry. Just an FYI.

Please do, Maketh. He'll be the most awkward, because hugs??? Who even hugs him? But after the wendigo event incident he may mother hen her now and then because he feels somewhat... responsible for? protective of? her in a way he hadn't previously.

Also how good of an idea introducing him to caffeine is remains to be seen...

I will tl;dr at you later, but I love this cr! ♥

Aww, Henry. You two can be socially inept together.

Well, there's always Irish coffee. Maybe Hope will be nice and drop some off.
