Okay but Daryl trying to help Sal physically protect himself while Sal tries to help Daryl emotionally protect himself (in a HEALTHY way!!!) it's the circle of life and I'm down for it.

It's okay Sal is very patient and knows you can't help people overnight. Like, he's freakishly patient. And oh my god I forgot the Love even was going to be a thing perfect timing for awkward friendship!!

Omg okay good, he is known for yelling and swearing at people that are only trying to be helpful and supportive. He's a good guy like that.

Yesss deal. We can maybe handwave how Daryl and Sal parted ways after he rescued him (because Daryl wouldn't just... drop a kid off alone somewhere? idk we'll figure it out) and then he can show up to check on him during the event?

Sounds like a plan! As for separating we can say Sal just got blown away by the wind. Ok not literally but with the storm being as bad as it is maybe as soon as Daryl turned his back the storm picked up and they got separated in a confusion of rain and hecka wind?

Ok yes, that works! And it would really panic Daryl to lose him that like, so he'd be out looking for Sal the second time he runs into him, feeling guilty that he lost the person he helped out. Love it.

Yes excellent I cant wait. If Sal gets a tiny whiff of guilt from Darly he's going to all support mode because it's what he does. He also knows allll about guilt.
