About Them: Determined, adaptable, empathetic, and decisive, Connor makes for a good detective where he works at the Detroit Police Department. Unfortunately, all of those things also make him kind of a terrible android, as androids are absolutely not supposed to make their own choices or feel emotions; in fact, Connor was specifically made to hunt down those who do, which are called 'deviants.'

So denial's been the name of the game for awhile, although just recently (as in an hour or so before arriving in Hadriel) Connor officially flipped sides, turning to help the deviants in their fight against humans. The short version of what this means is that he's extremely confused; emotions are very, very new, there are too many, they're hard to sort out, and a lot of him really wishes he could just go back to being a good android. He's very much still figuring out his sense of self, but already has a much stronger personality than he really realizes just yet.

Also he likes dogs.

Notable CR: Roommates with Maeve, gets along with Nick and Oscar (and also quietly worries about them), is surprisingly fond of Alphys and Rose, thinks Drake's pretty okay, and has varying opinions of many other people from 'acceptable' to 'you could drop off a cliff and I wouldn't care'.

Current Plans: Currently doing his best to work out some sort of decent medical care for mechanical-based people, as well as those who aren't but still can't have their needs taken care of at the Clinic. Also still pretending to be human for the most part, though he's been more lax with the secret with people he thinks it's safe to tell.

CR you're looking for: All the robots, of course, for robot bonding, but also he's still pretty new so just generally everyone. I also personally love negative cr, so hit me up if you're about that sort of thing too.

About Them: Jake is detective with the NYPD stationed in the 99th precinct in Brooklyn. He was inspired to become a cop after watching Die Hard as a kid which should honestly tell you a LOT about how he is as a person. Jake is immature, energetic and generally pretty cheerful as long as he's got something to do. He's coming from midway through season 4 of the show and he is honestly going to be horrified he's stuck here.

Notable CR: He's brand new so he hasn't acquired any CR as of yet!

Current Plans: My current plans are to get him settled and through the initial "oh god this place is worse than florida" crisis he's going to be going through. I'd love to get him hooked up with the guard and have him start making some fresh connections so he doesn't feel quite so hopeless about being separated from his friends.

About Them: The second half of the Tex-Mex Twins, Lup is Taako's identical twin sister. She's a high elf wizard with a love of cooking, high drama, and blowing shit up. She's gregarious and very social, but can come off pretty rude in her effort to be brutally honest. Due to their shitty upbringing, Lup has some Trust Issues™ and takes time to really warm up to people. Because she comes from a podcast medium, icons will never be perfectly matching, but the twins are described as being 'ethereally, femininely beautiful' and still look to be in their mid-twenties despite having lived through two centuries. Lup's tall (5'11") with a very slight, slender frame, and short, light-colored hair. She has darker skin that's covered in freckles. As an elf, she's got those trademark pointed ears.

Notable CR: Lup lives with most of her castmates, but is most often spending time with her twin or her husband, Barry. Her closest cr in game is Drake, Ephemera, Nate, Elena, Gren, Laura, Kate, and Atem. She knows just about everyone else though in some way or other! She’s been here for over a year so she knows most of you. (I’m also typing this up at work real fast so I’m SO SO sorry if I forgot any of her super close friends. Please yell at me.)

Current Plans: Ready to get my cuddle on! I’m also planning on a canon update for Lup in October to push her to post canon and bring her back with some good powers!

About Them: Newt is super smart, super arrogant, and super obnoxious. He's also super enthusiastic, which usually makes him at least kind of fun to be around, but that's been tempered mildly now that he's stuck in Hadriel. He'll bounce back eventually, probably? Anyway, Newt's from a version of Earth that's being invaded by massive Godzilla-style aliens called Kaiju, and he's a biologist that studies them. THE biologist, really. He's lowkey highkey obsessed with them, so step right up if you want him to talk your ear off about how awesome and amazing the Kaiju are. There's no Kaiju in Hadriel so that's a bummer (SORT OF???) but there are a lot of crazy weird other species lurking around the islands, which is what he's currently interested in. Newt's impulsive and is incredibly dense when it comes to other people's feelings and stuff, but he means well...? Mostly? IDK MAN Newt's a hot mess and is very Extra and has a habit of infuriating everyone around him, but this is mostly due to his unwillingness to rein himself in. Gotta be all Newt all the time, dude.

Physically, he's small (5'7) and screechy and has full body tattoos of various Kaiju done in a mock Yakuza style. Feel free to make fun of him for all of these things.

Notable CR: Newt splits his time between the lab, where he's hanging with Alphys and his various LAB INTERNS (George, Cashmere, and Michael, all deserving of a better title) who help him with monster/mechanical stuff, or taking care of his budding monster menagerie at home with Hayden and his roommate Semiyon. He's got a uhhhh weird booty call thing going on with Tucker, and some budding CR with a few other folks around town.

Current Plans: Newt just publicly launched his bestiary last month! He's still constantly updating it and will probably make network posts about it from time to time, but it's also listed on the newbie guide if you want an excuse for your character to get involved. He's always looking for help around the lab, so I'm sure we could find a spot for your character somewhere. Aside from that, he's got a toplevel at September's lab mingle and a general September open post, and can almost always be found in the lab. He, uh, also has a small zoo going at his house? He keeps a few easy(ish)-to-manage monsters alive to study them. Currently, he has two salamanders, a small mimic, a rust monster, and sometimes he has a jabberjay hanging around.

About Them: 4ish foot tall bisexual lizard lady scientist with big ol' glasses, buck teeth, and a penchant for getting a crush on anyone that's nice to her for more than 2 minutes. She's cute, she's probably scared, she'll win your heart. Alphys is a monster from the Underground, meaning she's made of magic, and a fairly brilliant robotics engineer, though she's also got a great proficiency in magical studies and soul research. She's also very anxious, speaks with a stutter, and loves anime to the point where it's probably unhealthy. She's been in Hadriel almost two years now and is slowly establishing herself as the resident Science person; she also runs the Lab, and can be found there a whole bunch, especially since the Null attack and the whole thing with [Name].

AS AN IMPORTANT NOTE: Pieces of Alphys' canon and character can have some touchy subjects, including depression, death, and suicide. If you would prefer I avoid these or just wanna opt-out from me tagging you entirely, please comment over on my permissions post and/or DM me!!! Thanks fam.

Notable CR: So many at this point. She lives with Rosie and is essentially running the lab, so she's close with Newt, Percy, and Barry plus anyone who frequents there. She also helps Rey with the newbie nights at the Speakeasy, and hangs with/really likes Lup, Adam, Ravine, Tucker, Atem, Glacius, Carey, and Connor. She's getting to be an old hand at this point so her name has probably floated around a bit, especially associated with the Lab.

Current Plans: I JUST got a network post up for her here talking about the Lab and connecting with synthetics, so that's her focus this month is to get some structure in place for robots to get help around here. She also may just make some big robot arms to hug people for that event later. How ya do. In addition she'll be examining some of the Door fragments so she has like!! A busy month!! Its crazy.

About Them: Gayest grump with a heart of gold and a terrible temper. A disaster concoction of fabricated memories belonging to different women who were soldiers and/or assassins because of that robot brain. Lots of PTSD and identity issues, full speed ahead.

Has a lot of intentionally-inflicted scars on her face. Also the ability to not-so-spontaneously combust herself and things around her and manipulate heat; makes for a very good personal sauna if you can keep her still long enough.

Runs the Speakeasy and welcome dance nights for the newbies on the intro logs. Here is the most recent one that was handled by Laura Palmer due to Rey being at sea for most of the month!

Notable CR: Lives with her dadbot Nick Valentine. Oscar is her unclebot twice removed and stuff. Friends with Rosie, Atem, Alphys, Trafalgar Law, Laura Palmer, and Carlisle Longinmouth. Just met Sanji and so far likes him because he makes great food. She has been super wary of Caedra Nisariel but is playing it cool. Rey is still technically part of the Guard in a near-unofficial capacity, so some of them might know of her.
Also has a mutant cat named Tripod and he is the most noble boy you will ever meet.

Current Plans: Again, Rey is gone for most of the month due to chasing Door fragments around the world, but I am absolutely open to plotting when she gets back! Normally Rey tries to resist Love's events because they're her most hated of the gods (even more so than Delight and Rage), but I am starved for fluff so Rey is gonna have to deal this time.

Which means she's single and ready to mingle gonna platonically snuggle the shit outta some friends and fam. (B

CR you're looking for: Soldier types. She's softened up a little towards synthetics but is still rather uncomfortable around them. Always accepting volunteers at the Speakeasy and Game Room, including maintenance, brewing/distilling, music, and setting up dance nights (thanks Laura). I'm pretty damn open to anyone who thinks she might gel well with! Rey has been around for over two and a half years now and so that makes her a very good source of information for those who want to know about past events.

About Them: Gren is the one-armed alcoholic salty winter adult of Hadriel. Personality wise, he's abrasive, quick to anger, and extremely foul-mouthed, but if you get underneath that crusty surface? He's actually kinda got a soft nougaty center. Don't tell anyone, it'll ruin his reputation as a drunk asshole.
Notable CR: Lup is probably his best friend at this point, and he's on decent terms with her obnoxious-ass brother. Seems to keep having weird, deep discussions about like death and shit with Atem. Probably not on great terms with Barold, because he beat the shit out of him.

About Them: A driven man with specific goals and inflexible plans, a pirate captain and a genius surgeon, oh and a complete jerk. He genuinely doesn't like most people and even those he kind of likes, he's prone to using as much as anyone else. Everyone is expendable in his plans, even himself. He's really not very nice at all and he's not sorry about it. There's an infopost in his journal with details and a link to his permissions post.
Notable CR: Sanji (duh), Caedra, Michael, Lance, Atem. He's burned a few bridges and fallen out of contact with some of his acquaintances, the floor is open to rekindle those or make new...contacts.
Current Plans: still onboard the Corazon (yep) until the 19th, they're weathering the storm and then limping to a nearby island to make repairs so they can get home. IF any of the fragments haven't been recovered, he will personally go out for the rest. He'll also be making a post regarding the Null that attacked their fleet when the storm is over.

I don't have plans yet for the Love event but this is one good chance to do ridiculous OOC crack with him I guess. More interesting to me is hooking him up with people who don't like him under normal situations, so they can mutually "ew gross" when it's over.

Also...I feel like I've reeled him back too much from certain traits in order to foster CR, so I'm absolutely looking for reasons for him to show his "cruel and brutal" side. One idea is to eventually have him go around bodyswapping people who get in his way, whether under god influence or not. Otherwise, negative CR can turn into something much worse and I'm ok with the fallout. He's not the "haul off and attack someone for no reason" type though, he'd have to have a serious reason, like if they were going to ruin his plans or kill him.

CR you're looking for: I've got some good negative CR brewing, but he could use more colleagues - medical or science types who want to talk shop and nerd out - since he only really nerds out with Michael. Mutual snark-fests with fellow sarcastic asshole is something I love and he needs. Keep in mind too that just because he doesn't like a character and is secretly using them doesn't mean they can't have civil and even interesting conversations. He uses and manipulates people he likes, after all. Also: people working on the Door/other metaplot stuff.

About Them: Sal is a polite fifteen year old who has a whole lot of compassion and really hates violence. Almost all of the time he'll try to talk out a conflict before anything else. He's one of those 'weird things happen wherever he goes' types and for the most part he just rolls with it, so little phases him (the ogres totally phased him). If your character is the type that needs someone really aggressively friendly who will listen to them talk about their problems and possibly say something surprisingly thoughtful Sal is your guy! Oh and he likes music (guitar specifically and is apprehensive around wild animals, notably dogs.

Also appearance wise: He always has on the mask, his hair is always in pigtails, and people who are way observant might realize his right eye is actually a glass eye. He's also very small and skinny, even for his age.

Notable CR: He just got here!

Current Plans: I generally wing it but he's probably going to go ghost hunting with his Gear Boy. It's literally a ghost hunting device made from a handheld console and a walkie-talkie that his friend made him. Other than that he'll probably want to talk to lots of people and get to know them. Also at some point he should learn how to defend himself, but this will take a little bit of convincing, maybe, since he hates violence. He'll acknowledge he has to learn some kind of self defense but it'll just make him apprehensive as heck, so someone convince him!

CR you're looking for: I like playing out Sal being a support system! He's like that sneaky kind you don't really expect it from him but one day you're airing your grievances and he's like BAM LET ME ENCOURAGE YOU AND TELL YOU YOU'RE NOT ALONE LET ME BE YOUR FRIEND!! I also think it would be neat if someone could get him to open up as he doesn't talk about himself in much detail. Also BIG NOTE HERE his canon is still ongoing and it's one big huge vague mystery in a lot of parts therefore if there's a subject I seem hesitant to broach in tags or get really vague about that's why lmao. Anyway I am literally open to any kind of CR so feel free to throw ideas at me.

She's not easy to get along with, though she does try. Sarcastic. Snarky. Selfish. Fakes confidence in the vast majority of situations she's in. Bad in social situations. Does her best to help others. Is kind, even if at first she's being a bitch.
Notable CR: She's not keen on the 'hanging out' aspect of friendship but has a handful of people she's close with (eg: Cecily, Adam, George).
Current Plans: None, really! If you're looking for something, though, Sharon is always open for everything.

Notable CR: Jo lives with George the Reaper, Pell the magic user and now Peter the Spider-man. It's complicated, okay. Anyway, Kate is a good friend and she has some acquaintances.
Current Plans: After the event where the gods all disappeared and the storm, she's working on rebuilding her small stockpile again. During the Event at the end of the month she's going to be a WRECK so I'm sorry for her. She's been in Hadriel for a long time and before that she was alone in Heaven. She's very touch-starved. She's gonna be mean.

About Them: Pell is a sweet if slightly whiny magical hermaphrodite from a post-apocalyptic future. He genuinely sees the best in people and wants to help everyone, though is a little jaded at this point because he knows his future and it's not good. Still, he tries!!! He's been in Hadriel for over two and a half years and is kinda done with this shit but still wants to make himself useful. He's always curious about people and their life experiences. He was a farmer most of his life and has a vegetable garden on north island, and magic-wise is inclined towards healing so makes himself as useful as possible at the clinic/making house calls.
Notable CR: Jo and George and Julie are family, things are super awkward with Seel and Swift, and always weird with Will. He should at least know anyone associated with the clinic.
Current Plans: With Kate stepping back from clinic work, he's going to consider taking on more responsibility there since he's been around forever and is one of only a few only healers left in Hadriel. However he is not a natural leader and administrative shit would be the bane of his existence. The storm also probably wrecked his garden, so when it blows over I think he's going to post asking for some help getting it back in order.
CR you're looking for: As usual, I'm mostly looking for positive connections and friends for Pell, especially outgoing types who can pull him from his self-imposed isolation. He's since mellowed. Slightly. Most of his face is covered in burn scars, most heavily on the left side, and he's missing that eye. Heavily tattooed, usually wandering around in a full suit of power armor. He's hopelessly dramatic, but sincere with the people that he cares about.
Notable CR: Drake is his partner, he's BFFs with Lup, and fond of Kyna and Lance. He's got a complicated and evolving relationship with the rest of the Blues.
Current Plans: Ephemera just recently came back from a long absence and a canon update, confirming that he did indeed get his ass killed back home. He has not processed this yet.

Notable CR: Law, Semiyon, and Jane/Alice are the closest things she has to friends, but she also doesn't seem to mind Rey, Sanji, or Nate. She enjoys stringing Floki along by pretending to be a goddess, she has killed Ianchus and Margaery before, and she strongly dislikes Curufin, Ravine, and Edgar.
Current Plans: Caedra is living the boating life and mostly loving it. She'll be back on the 19th, in time for the Love event. As noted, her main priority here is getting home, so she's very involved in recovering pieces of the Door right now - and you bet she wants a say in how they're used.
CR you're looking for: She's going to be creeping around the Lab a bit in upcoming weeks since she doesn't really trust the people there to not just give up the Door fragments to the gods, whom she utterly despises. About Them:

Michael is a socially awkward former autopsy technician from a modern Earth where magic is secretly a thing. Except he doesn't know that? Or, well, he's starting to figure it out, but we'll get to that later. The basic gist of his troublesome situation is that magic in his world, for those born with the power to use it innately, works on a system of belief. If you think it's true/that you can do it, there you go. Unfortunately for Michael he thought he was possessed by a monster that eats murderers, so... there he goes! He hasn't yet realized the monster is just a magical construct of his own making, but he at least knows he's capable of using magic himself, so it's a start.

Notable CR: Nate is close friends with Lance Sweets, Elena Fisher, and the Taaco twins. Acquaintances include Nick Valentine, Kravitz, Barry Bluejeans, and Daenerys Targaryen. Caedra Nisariel fucking terrifies him.

Current Plans: Nate and his wife are vanilla humans with 0 special abilities - outside of Nate's preternaturally good luck - so looking into potential magic powers in the near future is a thing. For protection's sake. Nate recently returned from the Big Boat Adventure with one of the fancy-schmancy god shards, so he'll be back on island time doing his usual exploration work on top of (hopefully) the magic stuff. Near the end of this month I intend to have him disappear for a week or so before undergoing a canon update.

He's also missing all the synthetic skin on one hand, so it's no surprise people can tell he's a machine.
Notable CR: He lives with pretty-much-his-daughter Rey mostly at the Speakeasy these days, and they have a three-legged, one-eyed cat named Tripod. He's often with the Guard, and is aware of all the members, even if he hasn't gotten the chance to really get to know them. Keeps in close contact with his fellow mechanical buddy Oscar, and has recently gotten on pretty good terms with Atem. Aside from that, he knows who most folks are around town, even if only in passing or on the network.
Current Plans: He doesn't patrol himself as much these days because he's still battling a bad case of rust thanks to the rust monsters that came into town. About Them: 12th century 18 year old king of Gwynedd, he's got magic but he's still a little wary about using it here. He usually tries to do the right thing, but he's young and sometimes fucks it up. Kelson is sweet and trying to find a balance between who he is as a person and who he is as a king, as well as figuring both out for himself.

About Them: Pratt is a partially brainwashed religious fanatic from a cult setting in rural Montana. He's a deputy of Hope County, who's now a neurotic panicky ball of mental instability. He looks a bit like a depressed scarecrow with dark circles around his eyes, a deep laceration across his nose and cheek, and is skinny enough you could use his ribs as a xylophone. (More detail here at his info post). He's unstable and jittery, but he generally means well and all his cop training means he wants to help, but his help might come with muttering about sacrificing the weak and culling the herd.

Notable CR: Right now he's working on befriending Carlisle who is basically the same person as him and Kettara who is big and scary and strong and he can appreciate that. (Also she turns into a wolf and he loves wolves.) And Tinya who is the first person to tell him he's not a complete waste of space for a long time.

And then there's Caedra who keeps shooting him.

Current Plans: Trying to get him to stop being a recluse and actually leave his house occasionally. Making a network of people for him to chat with so he's not alone with his thoughts going insane.

Angus is earnest, ridiculously polite, and a literal genius, but he's also gullible enough to fall for the got-your-nose trick and is very easy to mess with once you make friends with him. Also, he dresses like an old-timey schoolboy, or possibly a tiny senior citizen. Kneesocks, sweatervests, oxford shoes, button-up shirts and suspenders, the whole nine yards.

About Them: Oscar is an automaton who has changed a lot over the course of his canon because of his close friendship with a human and the experiences he has shared with her. As the 'sophisticated butler type', he holds himself to a high standard and maintains a polite formality with everyone. Get to know him, though, and he'll reveal a highly critical thought process, a strong sense of morality, a tendency to become obsessive about his work, a dry sense of humor, and the ability to be an encouraging, loyal friend and be a very pure gentlemanly thing. He is kind and self-sacrificing in his nature, sharp-witted and analytical in his thinking, and stubborn to the point that it can be frustrating. Was in Hadriel for three months before being apped again in July 2017 and taken from a later canon point with a different body.
Notable CR: Nick Valentine's robro (figuratively speaking), Rey's unclebot, finds Margaery to be quite charming, holds Alphys in high regard, and is lately forming a bond of sorts with Connor. He has been in the Fire Brigade since its inception and works on community projects, occasionally seen in tow of the head of the firefighters, Curufin. Helps the Clinic out by gathering supplies for them mostly, but he's also capable of administering some first aid thanks to his lessons from Mr. Solace, who left recently. And he's on team Save Name.
Current Plans: Work-wise, Oscar is helping with the replanting/regrowing effort, particularly on the North Island, though in the aftermath of the storm he'll want to participate in the clean-up effort too. He's currently stuck on the West Island and is staying inside the Clinic for the duration of the storm and helping out however he can; his open toplevel on the Clinic mingle is here. For the Love event, Oscar won't be affected, but I'm more than happy for people to invade his space. Bonus points if it involves hugs from people he knows, because there's a chance they might witness some awkward reciprocation! Maybe.
