Additional Info: I'm in GMT so I'm not always around when things first happen here. My tagging speed varies. If I have a clear inbox I'll boomerang, but this happens very rarely. I work full time Monday-Friday and my tags tend to be slower during the week because of this.

About Them: Gansey is an Ordinary Human. When he was ten years old, he died from being stung by hornets, and was brought back to life by a mystical force that referred to a ley line and someone called Glendower. As you can imagine, this experience caused a significant amount of trauma from which Gansey has never really recovered, though he has learned to hide it well. He has deeply held fears of death, bees and wasps (yes, he's allergic to both) (yes, that's very unusual, it sucks to be Gansey), and also 'emptiness', in a general sense. He doesn't like gaping open spaces, especially if they're dark. So being trapped in what's essentially an enormous cave? He's not loving that.

Trauma aside, he's also led a privileged life due to coming from a prominent 'old money' Virginian family. He's always been wealthy and his family are politicans and businessmen. He's aware of his own privilege, but this doesn't keep his foot out of his mouth. He's basically obsessed with all of his friends and heavily involved in their lives, so if you fuck with them, he'll take issue with it.

Gansey is typically friendly, polite and kind. He can be condescending without meaning to be, which he's aware of and feels bad about. He's pretty nerdy, obsessed with both history and magic, and very invested in locating Glendower. This is likely to come up if you become a good friend of his. Or even if you become a casual acquaintance of his, it's his favourite topic. He also talks (and kind of looks) like he's a lot older than he is.

Physically, he's described as effortlessly attractive (annoyingly so), with hazel eyes, a straight nose and broad, square shoulders. In canon people tend to have trouble working out his age until he tells them. His eyesight is awful; due to there not being a ready supply of contact lenses here, he wears glasses almost all the time. He also wears brightly coloured shirts, chinos, and boat shoes. So basically, he looks like a typical preppy rich kid with more money than sense, I'm so sorry for him.
Notable CR: Ronan Lynch, Adam Parrish, Noah Czerny and Blue Sargent are both his canonmates and his four best friends in the world. To make an enemy of them is to make an enemy of Gansey. He adores them.
Current Plans: The main thing Gansey wants is to find a way out of here, because being trapped in this murdercave prison is greatly impeding his seven year search for Glendower. He was nearing the end! He could feel it! How dare this place pull him away?! But at the same time, he's glad to be here because Adam, Ronan and Noah were all here, and now Blue is also here. He's invested in not only getting out, but taking all of them with him - and taking Noah home alive, too. To this end, he wants to learn about this place and its history, and about the magic that's here. In his mind, that's the only way to understand it and find a way out.
CR you're looking for: If you have magic, superpowers that look like magic, or anything similar to it, Gansey will have an interest in you. Equally if you are a character from the past, he'll be fascinated, because he loves history and he'll want your take on it. Anyone who wants to explore or research would be loved, and also other teenage characters will be loved! Gansey doesn't do all that well with people who try to 'mom' him, because he's quite busy doing that to everyone else. But you are welcome to try! Alternatively, if you would like him to mom you and take responsibility for making you happy, he is more than willing to oblige!

Clear considers himself close friends with Noah and he ADORES Adam. He likes to explore and adventure and talk about anything. He will also listen to anything. So if Gansey ever wants to talk his ear off about Welsh kings, he would hang on his every word like a little kid listening to a fairy tale.

So if Gansey wouldn't mind talking with a robot with an inexplicable soul, I would loooove to fling him at him.

Gansey loves to talk about Welsh Kings! Please come and listen to him, he loves that story. Especially when he's talking to someone who's willing to believe it.

He would also be fascinated by the AI element of this, if I'm reading it correctly?!

Clear would definitely believe it especially since Gansey has so much to say about it.

AND YEAH! KIND OF?! A quick explanation is like the iRobot movie with Will Smith?

The longer explanation is like...

He was designed with a learning AI so that he can learn all about human society as well as blend in with humans as much as possible. So he bleeds, breathes, eats, sweats, and his skin is plush, and all of that. (Since he's from a boys love dating sim, he can also...AHEM)

BUT! Throughout the game, he started blurring the lines of his own emotions and ones that he was artificially designed with and started falling in love and all that. And then the main character (who can see into peoples' souls) was able to look into Clear's which meant that he actually has a soul.

But since Clear broke and "died" and woke up here, he hasn't been able to explore that part like he did in the after story of the BL game.

Oh, I'm looking forward to this! Gansey immediately assumes Clear is human, so finding out he's not will be so strange for him. Already Clear seems so sweet and awkward! Gansey feels bad for being mirror-possessive, he's so sorry.

That would make Clear happy. lol! He wants to be considered human and he hasn't gotten to that healthy way of thinking that he's not human, but he has a soul, so it doesn't matter that he's not human.

Gansey is a ray of sunshine.

When the opportunity arises I will definitely tag Gansey! Of course, Hotspur will also try to ascertain the future through him, so... watch out for that?

He will be more than happy to talk about the future! Gansey tends to have a more rose-coloured view of the world than most people, although he's a bit more jaded than he used to be - but that still probably makes him more optimistic than anyone else Hotspur might ask. He tries very hard!

I would love some more CR with Gansey, even if it's mostly negative. Sharon's got weird supernatural abilities, and her hometown of Silent Hill happens to rest in West Virginia, so they'd certainly have things to end up chatting about!

Yes, this sounds great! Gansey personally tries to avoid ever coming across badly to people, and his meeting with Sharon wasn't the best! He'll try to make things better, probably. But yes they'd definitely have things to talk about! The supernatural in general fascinates him. The location of his hometown isn't totally clear - we know it's not more than a few hours' drive from Washington DC and that it's close to the Appalachians, so with that in mind West Virginia wouldn't be all that far away. He'd probably recognise her accent, and it'd make him think of home - he tends to be overly nostalgic about that sort of thing!

Yes I want that too! I think seeing the similarity in Adam's will be the most strange for Gansey. He'd be the one that he would least expect to want the same thing, and I think it will make him strangely happy.
