Test Drive Meme #40
Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open January 24th, and apps are open February 1st. Please remember that there is an app cap of 20 apps.
Two quick points here as well:1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!
Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R
SCENARIO ONE: SLURP SLURP
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.
What's that on the ceiling? Who's that skittering along the wall? Why, it's none other than the the Licker, from the Resident Evil series.
The licker crawls around on walls and ceilings and can easily avoid all attacks with their creepy crawly acrobatics. Watch out for those tongues, though- they can whip you with them and catch you off balance. They love waiting in dark corners to jump at you and slash you with their oversized claws, as seen here. Luckily, their brains are exposed and they're quite blind- move quietly and avoid their notice, or attack them in their weak spot to get away safely. Be careful though, they tend to travel in packs...]

SCENARIO TWO: CABIN IN THE WOODS
[It's nice outside. There's a heat to the air that permeates through the muggy interior of the cabin, but at night, it's cool enough that you can relax and see all the stars in the sky. The hot tub is a nice contrast to the chilly night air and the possibilities are practically limitless!
So cook something up on the grill, go hunting, or just relax and definitely don't get murdered, because you do happen to have a bit of an odd cabin mate. Why are the two of you sharing this cabin? Well, that's up for you to decide, but whether you're close friends who decided to take a vacation together or random strangers stuck together by circumstances, you're here for awhile so you might as well take the time to relax and get to know one another up here in these mountains!]

SCENARIO THREE: MONSTER HOUSE
[It seems like you've just misplaced a few items at first- but after awhile, it becomes apparent that the items are misplacing themselves. Weird, right?
Maybe not that weird, because soon afterward, items of all shames and sizes start to move around, now well within sight. Their intent is clearly to annoy or even harm you, depending on how dangerous the item is... maybe a deathly pair of pants, to a set of keys that keeps running away from you, to a house consumed with the desire to- well, consume you.
Be careful of everything, be suspicious of items that may be trying to lure you in with their stillness, and have fun! This event is based on Hadriel's It's Aliiiive! event this month.]
Invi | Kingdom Hearts: Gacha Hell
[When one lives their life in accordance with something someone else has written down, anything that happens to contradict the path laid before you is sudden, new, and quite frankly, jarring. Invi has never been a loud person, but even she can't stop the noise of surprise as the- the creature scuttles its way across the wall and up onto the ceiling.
It's enough to catch it's attention, the creatures head snapping towards her in an instant.
But it's no heartless. The creature is flesh and blood and sinew, and that alone means it will never be able to match the sheer speed of the creatures of darkness. It's tongue lashes towards her, intent on impalement, but Invi is faster, and her keyblade appears in her hand in an instant to deflect it's initial attack.
It doesn't have time to launch a second, fire accumulating from the tip of her keyblade in a brilliant flash of light and heat, and once her attack hits, the acrid smell of burning flesh comes quick after. Its cries are shrill, but fade soon enough as it succumbs to the intensity of the attack.
And then... Curiosity gets the best of her, and she closes the distance between herself and the creatures corpse, nudging it with the tip of her keyblade.]
... You're no Heartless. [Her voice is much softer this time, though it's likely from her own wonder.
... A distant clacking of claws surely means more of the creatures are on their way to investigate, but she seems unconcerned for the moment, more engrossed with puzzling out the creatures body than anything else.]
[RAGE.]
[Look, when Heartless can take the forms of unsuspecting objects, you learn to be wary of things that seemingly move on their own.
What one doesn't expect is a book, labeled "Spotting Possessed Objects & Their Effective Removal" to slam shut on unfortunate fingers hard, causing immediate pain, though she doesn't yelp as she subsequently tosses said book to the ground. Behind the mask, she's absolutely glaring, and the only tell is the way her lips are pursed into a thin line.
And from her (injured) hand comes a short burst of fire, incinerating the offending object in a swift burst, leaving ash on the floor.]
I'll have to be more careful in the future of these things. [She mutters to herself, ego more bruised than her hand which she's unfortunately shaking.]
fear
...except the person she'd been about to rush to the aid of doesn't seem to need it. Aqua had begun running toward her, only to slow down as the newcomer called a Keyblade and with it, fire. Well. All right.]
...you know the Heartless?
[Clearly, she's out of practice greeting people, because Aqua knows that is one of the worst introductory lines she's ever uttered.]
no subject
It would be strange for me to not know of them, don't you think?
[It's a hedging question, and it's one meant to find out more information regarding this unusual circumstance.
... Especially as this woman doesn't seem to know of or recognize her, which is strange in and of itself, if she knows the heartless.]
no subject
[Just two that she knows of. And judging by the woman's weapon, Aqua would have expected her to know them as well, if she's from the realm of light. But Sora and Riku never mentioned another wielder, other than Mickey and Yen Sid. Where is this woman from? Or...when?]
Most of them have never seen a Keyblade before.
no subject
What sort of power could do a thing such as pulling people from across the worlds? Suddenly, the fact that this woman doesn't know who she is is slightly less of an issue, though...]
You're not from Daybreak Town, are you? [It's more of a statement, but it's still possible a wielder could have slipped through the cracks, even under their watchful eyes.]
no subject
I've never heard of it. I was trained in the Land of Departure.
no subject
[And how did a keyblade even get to such a world, in a long enough chain that it was passed on to another? Just what is going on here? She's missing pieces to this puzzle and none of it makes sense thus far. If this woman was trained, then it stands to reason that her trainer had a keyblade as well....
Ava's Dandelions? .... No, surely not. She's still seen them muddling about in Daybreak.]
no subject
[And they'd been the only Keyblade wielders in training, as far as she knew. Generations came before them, but their numbers had dwindled for some or many reasons. If Master Eraqus knew, he hadn't told them.]
no subject
I'm not sure how both of you slipped through, nor how or why he's teaching young Keyblade wielders such as yourself, but I assure you, he is no Master. [Or at least, not one of any worthy note, in Invi's opinion. How bold to call themselves a Master...]
no subject
He is a Master, descended from Masters before him, guardian of our world. [...was.] Who are you, and why do you think you can make that judgment?
no subject
[She does feel slightly bad about outright dismissing this womans teacher, but the fact remains that there are those who can and would call themselves Masters without being one, to sow discord among other wielders, and spread darkness.
That's what it comes down to, isn't it? Perhaps this Eraqus didn't mean it so, but the fact remains that he is out of line to do what he's done, in her opinion.]
no subject
The rest of Invi's words were even more perplexing, leaving a sinking feeling in Aqua's chest. If she was a Master as well, then she was owed respect until she proved herself unworthy of it, but if she was a Master, how could she know so little?]
I'm Master Aqua. My title was given to me by my Master after I proved myself, as he was named Master by his after he showed the mark. As the tradition has been carried out for many, many generations.
[It's not something that would have occurred to her before, but after her experiences in the dark realm and re-meeting two boys she'd last known as children here, she has to wonder.]
When are you from?
no subject
I come from a time where there are many wielders, thousands of them, each belonging to one of the five unions. [She replies, slowly. If what this woman is implying is true, then she can only wonder how it is possible.]
no subject
I've been told...that this world has the power to draw people in from many points in time, even if they come from the same place. I was never sure I believed that to be true, but... [She shakes her head.] In the time I come from, there are few people who still wield the Keyblade. Five, at most. And one of them doesn't deserve to.
no subject
For their number to be reduced to simply five... It's unnerving.]
My apologies. I had no idea. I'm sorry for speaking ill of your Master like that. [Is what she settles on first, but then she continues, softer.] I'm also sorry we were unable to avert that tragedy, too. To think you would be left in such dire straits...
no subject
Thank you. [She won't hold a grudge.] What you described...it sounds incredible. But all my training was alongside my friends, Terra and Ventus. No one else.
no subject
[What happened to them? Ava's Dandelions, reduced to what Invi assumes to only be four...
And what of the book? Surely Ava would have passed that down as well. But what good would it have done after the war?]
no subject
I'm sorry—did you just say the Keyblade War?
no subject
[That.. surely hasn't been lost to history, but now, there's no need to hide the events that she knows will unfold, is there? Not if this woman already knows of them.]
no subject
[She speaks of it so calmly, as if it's another note on the calendar and not a momentous calamity.]
But that was a long, long time ago. Almost more legend than history.
no subject
no subject
I'm sorry. I wish I could tell you more about what happened. But not even the oldest books in the castle library go back that far.
