Welcome to Hadriel's test drive, and thank you again for your interest in the game! As always, our reserves page is here, and our applications page is here! Reserves open February 22nd, and apps are open March 1st. Please remember that there is an app cap of 20 apps.

Two quick points here as well:

1. Any thread made in Hadriel's test drive will be accepted as the sole Action Log sample in the application.
2. All threads made in the test drive can be considered game canon, either through handwaving or through a shared mental experience while coming through the Door!

Test drives will be broken up into specific god mini-events, during which your characters can see how well they fare under the watchful eye of one of the gods. Choose wisely or just simply pick 'em all, and have fun!

F E A R

SCENARIO ONE: SHOOTING HOOPS
[The Door brings in all that is chaotic and evil in the world. This may include you, may include the person next to you... and may include the monster behind you.

There you are, calmly exploring this super cool cave city, when all of a sudden you see something roll toward you. What could that possibly be? Why, it seems the Door has brought in some hoop snakes, which are definitely real.

Hoop snakes are poisonous and aggressive reptiles, able to pursue fleeing prey by grasping their tail in their jaws and rolling after them like a wheel. Wow, so efficient! Hard to get away from, though, and kind of... terrifying? If you want to get away, you better be a fast runner. Or maybe you should climb something. Good luck!]

S O R R O W

SCENARIO TWO: YOU GOT THE BLUES
[You woke up this morning on the wrong side of the bed. Not the angry side - the sad side. Somehow, everything just seems to be going wrong, and you don't know why. You were out of milk for your cereal, the fruit you picked just yesterday is already going bad, and instead of getting frustrated all you want to do is feel sorry for yourself.

Even the good things aren't going too well. Maybe your friend just told you your hair looks nice today - doesn't that mean it looks bad the rest of the time? Probably. They've just been too nice to tell you. And your crush smiled at you - that probably means they know about your feelings and are getting ready to let you down easy. That's the only explanation.

No matter what happens, your mind is giving you the worst, most depressing interpretation. You can try to fight it and be aggressively upbeat - or maybe you just want to cry on somebody's shoulder. Yeah. That sounds good right about now.]

D E L I G H T

SCENARIO THREE: PUCKER UP
[For once, Hadriel looks rather lovely, all covered in snow and seasonal! Sure, it's not quite the right season anymore, but who really knows what month it is? Not the residents, and certainly not the gods. But for whatever reason, Delight has decided there should be snow on the ground and ugly sweaters in the shops.

And, of course, mistletoe. On your wanderings around the city, you may find yourself under the mistletoe with a friend or a stranger or even an enemy. Regardless of who they are and how you really feel about them, the mistletoe will give you a gentle compulsion to plant a kiss right on those appealing lips of theirs. You can resist if you want - it won't force you - but don't you kind of want to go for it?

This is a mini version of our Kissmas event this month!]

[lifts jacob up and physically throws him out of this cave

Or: Ned looks at him, considers, and holds up his hands in reluctant mistletoe defeat.]

Alright, alright. Against my better judgment, I wouldn't mind.

[queensberry]

Against your better judgement! [Jacob rolls his eyes, turning his head like he just might not kiss him after all. It lasts about two seconds before he's taking the lapels of Ned's shirt and leaning to press his lips to his. But uh. No big deal. It's fine.]

[trainspotter]

[Jacob Frye is a big baby, news at 11. Ned's still making this victory face until Jacob grabs him, at which point he has a split-second of surprise (somehow) before he's kissed. So he won that stalemate too, good to know.

Which isn't to say that he doesn't kiss back, because he does, but only for a moment before he's reaching up to peel Jacob's hands off his shirt and pull back. That's enough grabby hands, big guy.]

[queensberry]

[Kissing Ned was nice, but it was definitely only because of the mistletoe. The mistletoe is why he's smiling so much. Not smirking, smiling with no trace of smugness-- all the stupid plant above them. All of it.]

That wasn't bad. [He straightens up, choosing to focus on adjusting his top hat like he didn't look a happy idiot.] Not sure if it was favor-worthy, but I'm a man of my word.

[trainspotter]

[Ned, meanwhile, has a hand raised like he's about to wipe his mouth on the back of it, after Jacob's sloppy performance, but what is this? Not favor-worthy? How insulting.

He won't rise to this bait... he's an adult, that Ned Wynert. He's an adult. He scoffs, wiping his mouth now.] You work hard first, then I'll make it worth your while.

[You know, with guns and etc.]

[queensberry]

[With... guns. Yeah. Totally. Jacob blinks, giving him a look that just screamed that he didn't piece that together right away. Give him a minute.]

... Right. With Wynert Enterprises, and all.

[trainspotter]

Wynert Underground, at least until it catches on. [Until London falls through the ceiling of this big cave, he wants to differentiate.

Nice blank doofus look, anyway.] What is it, Frye? You want to go again?

[queensberry]

Oh, my mistake. Wynert Underground. [Jacob laughs, but it catches when Ned asks. If the previous look on his face was dumb, well.]

What makes you think I'd want to go again? Unless you want to, and you're making excuses.

[trainspotter]

[Jacob, please. Ned laughs, waving a hand like this isn't a big deal at all and Jacob is just being overdramatic.]

Never mind that. [he says, again,] Just remember it's Underground here. Usually I'd like business expansion to be on my own terms, but when in Rome...

[What is he talking about. Ned.]

[queensberry]

[And here Jacob thought that was the last loop he'd be thrown through. Kissing, business talk, kissing talk, business. This is all too much for Jacob when he's distracted.]

Do as the Romans, yes, you sound like Evie. You wiped your mouth, was it not your style? [This back and forth,]

[trainspotter]

[Weird things to say to someone while pestering them about kissing: "you sound like my sister." But moving on from that, since Ned just won't comment on it.]

I don't appreciate being drooled on. That a crime? [Don't actually answer that, please,] I'm sure you're better at that on your own time, so don't worry.

[queensberry]

I wasn't-- [What!! Of course he has to worry about this, he's Jacob Frye. He can't have so many people wanting to kiss him only to be terrible at it.] I don't drool.

[This is some serious matter of pride now.] We're on my own time. What went wrong?

[trainspotter]

[How are they still talking about this?? Ned is more or less actively encouraging it now, but how are they still talking about it?]

Drool, Frye. On my face. Maybe you should do yourself a favor and tighten that up. [It was such a timid baby kiss that this supposed drool didn't happen, and yet, since Jacob is reacting...]

[queensberry]

I don't drool! [He says, before a gulp that may or may not be to make sure his mouth stays dry. He doesn't drool.]

You're just trying to make it sound like kissing me isn't great. [What a conclusion.] I understand, I do. It's nothing to be ashamed of.

[trainspotter]

Really. Great. [He's doing that thing again, where he stares just long enough for his subtle point to sink in before he makes a disbelieving noise and looks away. Oookay.]

You creased my shirt.

[queensberry]

You... [He's got a great comeback here. He does. Just you wait.] ... You made your own bed.

[That would have been great if he remembered the rest of that saying.]

[trainspotter]

[Oh, that's good. That's clever.]

Sure. Now, what was I saying about Wynert Underground...? If you've got nothing to do, you can help me out, but I can't make any promises about payroll just yet.

[He will keep talking about his nonexistent business if he is not stopped, congrats.]

[queensberry]

Maybe I have things to do. [He could continue being a child, but I suppose he can let this go. For now. He's still watching Ned's mouth.]

I can't imagine what cargo you're going to get around here, but I'll do anything to get you out of that sweater. [Wait, no,] You don't look like much of a businessman at the moment.

[trainspotter]

Rocks, or something? That's not too far off from my usual, actually. [Ha, see, because. He steals jewels. Anyway.

There goes his eyebrow, good lord Jacob Frye, calm down.] There's nothing wrong with my sweater.

[queensberry]

[It takes him a moment to get it... master assassin, everyone. At least he laughs at Ned's dumb joke.]

So you wouldn't object to everyone back home knowing you've worn it.

[trainspotter]

I'll take it back home and show them myself. Tell everyone the notorious Jacob Frye couldn't resist me in it.

[The power of trains!!]

[queensberry]

That-- Alright. [He has him there, might as well embrace it.] You're right. You're absolutely irresistible in a sweater that a child wouldn't wear.

[trainspotter]

[Thanks, he knows his sweater is very stylish and adult. He tugs on it a little, just to be sure the big stupid train is completely visible. That's the best part.]

Thought so. You could use a new sweater, yourself.

[queensberry]

So I can be the epitome of fashion, like always. You're right. [Jacob pops the collar of his coat and laughs, shaking his head. Ned and his train were stupid, and... cute. Ugh.]

Shall I find one to match you? Wynert Underground uniforms.

[trainspotter]

[Ah yes, the very fashionable Jacob Frye. There's probably a train sweater somewhere that would fit him, Ned thinks.]

Are you gonna keep it clean? The wash doesn't come with the employee benefits.
