I've got some basic canon info bullet points here, but here's for some sillier things!

► Ronan has broken his fair share bones over the course of his childhood and notably has had several instances of boxer's fracture. I wonder why.
► He's an 'animals-over-people' type person and definitely used to have a folder on his laptop with a bunch of baby animal pictures in it.
► Chainsaw (his raven) is a representation of his 'truth', and while she's her own separate creature, she's also created from the vulnerable parts of him and serves as a tethering force to keep him true to himself.
► He loves shitty internet memes.
► He prefers to think of himself as a force of nature rather than a human being. Dehumanizing himself makes him happy because it removes his responsibility over his surroundings.
► On that note, he's 100% aware that he's an asshole and that it's difficult to be friends with him and on some level he appreciates his friends for putting up with his bullshit. He just doesn't really care enough to try to be nicer.
► He plays tennis and presumably owns tennis whites somewhere.
► Some of his farm cows were Highland cattle because THEY'RE FLUFFY and objectively the cutest cows in existence.
► He loves working on farms okay he's a farmboy at heart.
► He likes spicy food because he thinks it's badass. He's that loser who eats like 20 chili peppers on a dare.
► Jury is still out on whether or not his tattoo is sort of magical and shifts around a little or just a normal tattoo. I like to headcanon it as more of a scattered/sharper pattern like this, but with the coverage of this (which is actually an amazing fanart of him).
► If he were a dog, he'd be a doberman, if he were a cat he'd be an egyptian mau.
► In their friend group though, Ronan is the dog, Adam is the cat, Noah is the ferret, and Gansey is the exasperated owner. Their CR all makes instantly more sense when you think of it this way.
► He was fourteen in 2010. You know what that means.

BOOM OKAY HERE WE GO:

Canon never really specifies exactly what Ronan has learned, just that he's had like ten years of obscure Irish instrument lessons. I don't think he had the patience or the dedication to really be good at any particular thing, but I don't doubt that he tried very hard at them, if only to impress his father. Niall loved music though, and so by proxy Aurora loved music and so the Lynch brothers were kind of raised with an ever-present musical backdrop.

(in case you're wondering, I headcanon that Aurora plays the harp because of course she does, but not much else, and Niall could play a little bit of everything under the sun but preferred fiddles- also because I headcanon him as growing up sort of poor, he definitely began by playing cheaper instruments like bones and tin whistles)

Ronan is better at percussion instruments than string instruments because he's kind of fidgety, and he was taught bones from a pretty young age since it's a kid-safe thing so he's good at it. Ronan was at one point passable with fiddles and whistles, but he hates pipes because he thinks they look lame, and he doesn't have the patience with harps. I also like the idea that he's actually pretty decent at singing but lmfao good fucking luck getting him to do that anymore.

But all of this is pretty irrelevant because it's been over a year now since he's touched any of the instruments and he's rusty as hell with very little interest if picking them back up, so he won't be serenading you with violin music anytime soon :c
