• Josh is an excellent source of movie trivia. Watching shitty horror movies and talking about the effects used is his idea of a good time.
• He's from Los Angeles, California.
• He's never really lacked for anything material - his father is a movie producer, his family is the kind of hella rich that can own a mountain.
• He tips really well, especially if the server is cute and friendly.
• When he's not in the midst of mental breakdowns, he makes an effort to be outgoing and friendly and social. This is often not easy.
• His favorite color is blue.
• They've had various pets over the years, but Josh's favorite was a pet rabbit that actually belonged to his sisters when they were all in elementary school. Its name was Mr. Wuffles.
• When he's not doing so well on the mental health front, he can go days without properly eating or sleeping.
• He tends to eat a lot of shitty food because of that, because it takes the least effort to prepare.
• Drunk 2am Taco Bell runs are a thing.

Hahaha! A good question. I'd guess that the Washingtons are a LITTLE richer, since they... y'know... own a mountain, but it's probably pretty close. Emily definitely seems more into flaunting her money, though.

I'm not done with the game yet, so sorry if this is answered in canon. Is Josh in college? If not, what would he want to study? Is he interested in going into film?

It's not answered directly in canon, but there's some supplementary material that answers it! Josh was in college studying psychology, but he dropped out after his sisters died. He absolutely wants to be a film producer someday. Whether he thought psychology would help with that or whether it was an effect of all the time he's spent with mental health professionals is an open question! Maybe both.

Ah, cool! What specifically made him want to be a producer? Were there certain kinds of movies he wanted to make or stories to tell? He seems pretty familiar with horror tropes, though that could just be a side-effect of the plot, since a lot of it is him attempting to terrorize people.

I ask since I'm a film person, and I find it really interesting what other people - and characters! - are attracted to about movies.

His father is a producer, and a pretty successful one if their stacks of money and freaking MOUNTAIN are any indication. Josh really loves his family, he looks up to his father, and he's been around it enough to know that it's really interesting and he'd have a lot of fun doing it. He does have a weakness for horror movies, he likes the tropes and he enjoys the creativity of it, and he's also a 20 year old guy who's inclined more toward that sort of thing than, say, Edwardian dramas or whatever. But film in general is really interesting to him, and if someone asked he'd say he's sort of interested in all of it, not just horror.

He loves the idea of making something that can change people's worldviews for a little while, take them to a totally different world or scare them or inspire them. That sort of got twisted into something really fucked up in the game, but the basic impulse isn't too odd. Josh's mental illness just turns it into something REAL bad.
