Emily | Until Dawn | extremely tl;dr lol

    • Emily is 19.
    • She's from Los Angeles, California.
    • Her mother is Japanese. Emily has been to Japan a few times to visit her family and take part in traditional festivals (mainly the ones related to specific ages). She's not especially invested in Japan, but it's part of her life regardless.
    • Emily is fluent in Japanese.
    • Despite her claim that her middle name is Danger, it's actually Rin. In Japanese, R and L sounds are interchangeable, so she can say her middle name is Lynn and it's not far from the truth.
    • She's an only child and was spoiled accordingly, which is easy to do when your parents are rich.
    • However, while she was by no means neglected by her parents, she did feel like they didn't pay much attention to her. Constantly getting good grades set the bar really high, so anything that most other parents would consider achievements that deserve rewards was just normal for Emily, so she never received any special treatment for excelling the way that she did. Conversely, this meant that any drop in performance was noticed and remarked upon, so Emily made it a point to excel in school.
    • She was that little kid who knew all the answers in school and got picked on for it, so she spent a lot of time on her own.
    • One time, a kid shoved her on the playground, and she shoved him back so hard that he hit his head and needed stitches. That was when kids started to be afraid of her.
    • She doesn't remember exactly how it happened, but she and Jessica became friends very young. Jessica wasn't as smart as her, but she also wasn't intimidated by Emily in any way.
    • Eventually Emily switched from being physically intimidating to being verbally and mentally intimidating to her peers. If people wanted her to be the rich bitch, then by golly that's what she would become.
    • She has a special hatred for weeaboos, not just for them being unapologetic and ignorant Japanophiles, but mostly because of a few especially awkward situations in middle school where one or two kids tried to get her to speak Japanese with them and told her all her clothes were sooo kawaii! She shut them down pretty quickly.
    • She is very insecure about all sorts of things, and she has a fear of rejection and abandonment. It's part of why she's so controlling. She's also really loyal as a result, until you mess with her.
    • She's a sophomore in college, majoring in marketing and business administration.
    • Mike was not her first boyfriend, but he was the first person she slept with.
    • When Jess calls her 'frigid' in the lodge, it's not entirely untrue, though it is a misrepresentation of the truth. Being someone so riddled with insecurities, Emily is very selective about who she trusts and to what extent she trusts them. It took her a long time to feel that comfortable and close with Mike, and to Emily, it meant things were Serious. On some level, it made her feel a little more confident. On another, it did the exact opposite, because was she good enough, would he leave her now, of course she was good enough come on, etc.
    • Hence, their breakup hit her really hard.
    • And Jessica's betrayal (which is how Emily defines Jessica's decision to date Mike) hit her even harder, because Jessica was the person who heard all about Emily's anxiety about the subject.
    • Matt had always been nice to Emily, but he was especially supportive when the mess with Mike and Jess happened. Emily started to see just how good a guy Matt is, and relatively soon after breaking up with Mike, Emily and Matt became an item.
    • Emily was not cheating on Matt. She genuinely cares for and trusts Matt.
    • In the bonus scene, Emily and Matt talk a fair bit about having sex, an interesting contrast to Jess's 'frigid' jab from earlier. This is because Emily did sleep with Matt pretty early into their relationship, since some part of Emily wondered if her initial hesitation about sex was a factor in her and Mike's ultimate breakup.
    • I have a lot of thoughts about the bonus scene, actually. When Matt asks her if she's ever done it outside, she lets go of his hands and walks away, which reads kind of coy and skittish, and plays dumb about what he's referring to. I think that, yes, she is being less uptight about sex with Matt than she was with Mike, but that it's more than a little out of her comfort zone to be that way. Not to say that she's averse or doesn't enjoy it, but probably that she's just not as into it as others are. Certainly enough that Jessica is able to comment on it when they argue in the lodge. This is all in spite of her teasing Matt about her lacy lingerie and him being close to getting lucky on the mountain.
    • Emily is more than capable of taking care of herself. She just doesn't see the point in doing anything if someone else can do it for her. Hence, although she's able to shimmy to safety at the cable car station on her own if Matt fails to catch her when she loses her balance, she much prefers to let him go first and be a hero.
    • She wants to reconcile with Jess, but she's really, really angry at her. Betrayal hurts. If Jess were to apologize, Emily would still take a while to warm up to her again. Still, she misses her best friend.
    • She also still cares about Mike, though only as a friend. Up until the point where he nearly shoots her in the basement, he is still one of the people she trusts most in their friends group. Much like with Jess, she would like to reconcile with him, but damn is it going to take a while.
    • She has mastered the art of fixing herself up after a long night out so that she looks immaculate.

Something custom made, for sure. She'd hire a designer and spend a lot of time making sure they get what she's looking for. It'd be strapless, probably, like this maybe (only way more expensive, obviously).

As for the wedding itself, she'll want flowers all over the place, lots of ivory and white with touches of deep red. Probably not a church wedding. It's possible she'd rent out an entire exclusive resort for the ceremony. (Her dad would totally pay for it, she'd make sure of that.) She'd probably be kind of a bridezilla, lbr.

    - Emily has a fear of failure. (I've been working under that assumption but yeppp, good job, me.)
