Facts/Headcanons/Questions Meme

  • Post with your characters.
  • Write up some facts about your characters, or some of your headcanons! Or both; anything you can think of that you want to share is fine!
  • Other people ask questions about whatever they can think of/are interested in knowing.
  • Questions are usually OOC, but IC is fine too! Just make a note if it's IC.
  • Answer questions, with tl;dr if you like~
  • Have fun!

He really doesn't have a least favorite, because just the process of research itself is fun for him. (neeeeerd) Some are less interesting than others, and sometimes he ends up researching things that are kind of distasteful to him, but the pursuit of knowledge itself is enough to make it seem worthwhile anyway. His favorite topics are necromancy, esoteric Tevene history (particularly if it's scandalous), and odd magical theories. In Hadriel, he's really enjoyed learning about magic from other people's homes and how different it is from magic in Thedas.

Dorian definitely commissions pretty much everything. He can do basic sewing and tailoring, because after leaving home he didn't always have the money to pay someone else to do it, but if given the choice he'll generally design & commission things rather than doing it himself. And come on. Of course he and Viv have had style showdowns. Every day was a lowkey style showdown, which Dorian always won because he is the best and most fashionable. He will admit to nothing else.

He does like that he's learned so much about other worlds, and he's met some interesting people in Hadriel. It helps that since his canon point is after the defeat of Corypheus, he doesn't feel like he was taken in the midst of an important task. It's a bit like pressing pause on his life, being in Hadriel, but it could be worse. He DOES hate how it's tortured his friends, because for all that Dorian acts flippant, when he cares for people he cares very, very deeply. Mostly he's avoided too many awful things himself, but his friends have been through a lot, and he hates that he can't do anything about it but try to offer help when he's able.

Also, there's not enough good wine. :(
