CHARACTERCharacter Name: Harlan Halliday

About Them: Harlan is a SORCERER!!! which sounds cooler than he is. He's from a modernized DnD campaign, where he runs an adventuring guild with his pals Tucker and Kyna and spends a lot of time pulling hilarious goofs on his friends instead of actually doing his goddamn job (except he's The Boss now so he actually does his job a lot too). He's calmed down (read: grown up) a lot since landing in Hadriel (thanks in part to a canon update), so now he's like... the tired parent who spends most of his day wrangling his various Responsibilities (that usually come in the form of people). That said, he's super social and loves talking to people, so he doesn't actually mind his role as Team Dad when he's not trying to deal with his own issues. Sometimes dude just wants a nap, y'know? He's a pretty enthusiastic friend and loves supporting his pals, but he can also be super emotional and sometimes has a hard time reining himself in. He can read people pretty well (usually? sometimes sarcasm is lost on him) and he's very straightforward, which... can either be a pro or a con depending on your personal taste. He has zero time for bullshit, but you can trust him to be upfront and honest with you, at least.

Also, quick plug for his permissions and opt-out stuff. Harlan struggles with mental illness, self harm, suicidal thoughts, homicidal urges, and a history of mental and sexual abuse, and he can us magic that messes with people's heads. If you have a minute to let me know what your comfort level is with those things and/or if you would like to avoid tagging him altogether, I would appreciate it! Thanks!

Notable CR: HH came to Hadriel with his buddies from home, Tucker and Kyna. Other close CR includes Michael (boyfriend!!), Hayden (roommate!!), Delmar (HH helps him out at the bakery a lot), George (he's been teaching her magic), and Lance (this relationship is impossible to sum up quickly!!). He's got a bunch of other CR around town but if I try to list I will definitely forget someone and then feel bad. >:T

Current Plans: Harlan doesn't have a ton going on right now? He's just kind of out there doing his best, still sort of mentally recovering from the Senses Fail event the other month. He spends a lot of time at the bakery and near the Silent Hill area, but he likes to be around people so he explores other parts of town pretty frequently. I don't have any open stuff for him at the moment, but if you want to do anything with him, that's easy enough to arrange! He's known to text people out of the blue sometimes just to make conversation.

CR you're looking for: Anything, really? I know that's a boring answer but HH has a good mix of CR at the moment and I don't have any big holes I'm looking to fill. I'm on board with both negative and positive CR though! More negative CR wouldn't hurt, actually. Too many people like him??? But for real, anything is good, and HH is a great character to help push other characters through development stuff. If you're looking for someone to help your character with x issue or get them to develop in a certain way or whatever, I'm totally down to use Harlan to help with that!!
